Modern specialized fishery of sea fish in the western Bering Sea
The shelf and continental slope of the western Bering Sea, being among the most productive areas of the Far-Eastern Seas of Russia, became exploited by commercial fishery half a century ago, after introduction of 200-mile exclusive economic zones in 1977

Recuperation and behaviour of Pacific cod after barotrauma [PDF]
AbstractA total of 624 Pacific cod was captured, tagged with data-storage tags, and released in the Gulf of Alaska and eastern Bering Sea from 2001 to 2003. Cod were captured with pot or jig gear at depths ranging from 32 to 127 m. As of January 2004, 272 tags (44%) were recovered, with fish at liberty from 2 days to 1.5 years.

Description of electrophoretic loci in Atlantic cod, Gadus morhua, and comparison with Pacific cod, Gadus macrocephalus [PDF]
Electrophoretic analyses of 23 proteins using extracts of eye, liver. muscle, and heart revealed 45 loci in Atlantic cod, 41 considered usable for routine analyses. Genetic variation was observed at 18 loci in two samples of Atlantic cod, and the average heterozygosities in these two samples are 0.100 and 0.130, which is larger than previous estimates ...

Stocks and fishery of cod (Gadus macrocephalus, Gadidae) in the northwestern Bering Sea in 1965–2022
For pacific cod in the northwestern Bering Sea, biomass of the summer-fall feeding aggregations in the specified area of their highest density (polygon) is considered as a stock unit.

Analysis of DNA sequence variation within marine species using Beta-coalescents [PDF]
We apply recently developed inference methods based on general coalescent processes to DNA sequence data obtained from various marine species. Several of these species are believed to exhibit so-called shallow gene genealogies, potentially due to extreme
