Formation Control of Automated Guided Vehicles in the Presence of Packet Loss [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2022
This paper presents the formation tracking problem for non-holonomic automated guided vehicles. Specifically, we focus on a decentralized leader–follower approach using linear quadratic regulator control.

Mitigation of Data Packet Loss in Bluetooth Low Energy-Based Wearable Healthcare Ecosystem [PDF]

open access: yesBiosensors, 2021
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) plays a critical role in wireless data transmission in wearable technologies. The previous work in this field has mostly focused on optimizing the transmission throughput and power consumption.

Calculation of the Packet Loss in Optical Packet Switches: An Analytic Technique [PDF]

open access: greenAEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2003
Abstract In this paper, we investigate the performance of optical packet switches. Optical packet switches are operated entirely in the optical domain (except for the header extraction). The optical buffering is realised by using fiber delay lines (FDL's). We analyse, using generating functions, an optical buffering structure, consisting of FDL's with

Effects of Packet Loss on Neural Decoding Effectiveness in Wireless Transmission [PDF]

open access: yesBrain Sciences
Background: In brain–computer interfaces, neural decoding plays a central role in translating neural signals into meaningful physical actions. These signals are transmitted to processors for decoding via wired or wireless channels; however, they are ...

Packet Loss Characterization Using Cross Layer Information and HMM for Wi-Fi Networks [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Packet loss is a major problem for wireless networks and has significant effects on the perceived quality of many internet services. Packet loss models are used to understand the behavior of packet losses caused by several reasons, e.g., interferences ...

On the Correlation of Internet Packet Losses [PDF]

open access: green2008 Australasian Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference, 2008
In this paper we analyze more than 100 hours of packet traces from Planet-Lab measurements to study the correlation of Internet packet losses. We first apply statistical tests to identify the correlation timescale of the binary loss data. We find that in half of the traces packet losses are far from independent.

P2P Traffic Localization by Forcing Packet Loss [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Networked and Distributed Computing (IJNDC), 2013
Recently, peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic is increasing rapidly in volume day by day. One of the main causes is that most of P2P applications including file sharing and streaming applications often form overlay networks for exchanging data that are oblivious ...

New hybrid frequency reuse method for packet loss minimization in LTE network [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Research, 2015
This paper investigates the problem of inter-cell interference (ICI) in Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile systems, which is one of the main problems that causes loss of packets between the base station and the mobile station. Recently, different frequency

Federated Learning with Packet Losses

open access: yes2023 26th International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC), 2023
This paper tackles the problem of training Federated Learning (FL) algorithms over real-world wireless networks with packet losses. Lossy communication channels between the orchestrating server and the clients affect the convergence of FL training as well as the quality of the learned model. Although many previous works investigated how to mitigate the

On the Influence of AQM on Serialization of Packet Losses

open access: yesSensors, 2023
We study the influence of the active queue management mechanism based on the queue size on the serialization of packet losses, i.e., the occurrences of losses in long, consecutive series. We use a traffic model able to mimic precisely the autocorrelation function of traffic, which is known to be far from zero in packet networks.
