CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Dynamic Assessment of Oligopoly, Oligopsony Power, and Cost Efficiency using the New Empirical Industrial Organization in the U.S. Beef Packing Industry [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, the new empirical industrial organization approach with a dynamic model is simultaneously employed to measure the degree of oligopoly, oligopsony power, and cost efficiency in the U.S. beef packing industry.

Talking about torque: Measuring pack accessibility - A review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Vacuum lug closures are a simple, reliable and low-cost packaging option used for the protection and promotion of jams, pickles and sauces. Several surveys and anecdotal evidence suggest that packaging of this type can be notoriously difficult to open.

Dimension inequalities of multifractal Hausdorff measures and multifractal packing measures

open access: yesMATHEMATICA SCANDINAVICA, 2000
Given a Borel probability measure \(\mu\) on \({\mathbb R}^n\), the core of multifractal analysis consists of computing the (Hausdorff) dimensional multifractal spectrum of \(\mu\), that is, \[ f_{\mu}(\alpha)=\text{ dim}\left\{x: \alpha_{\mu}(x):= \lim_{r\rightarrow 0}{\log\mu B(x,r)\over \log r}=\alpha\right\}, \] and then establishing whether the ...
