Membrane fouling by alginate in polyaluminum chloride (PACl) coagulation/microfiltration process: Molecular insights

Separation and Purification Technology, 2020
Abstract While polyaluminum chloride (PACl) coagulation- microfiltration (MF) process is one of the most popular methods for surface water treatment, the fouling mechanism underlying this process has not well explored. In this study, sodium alginate (SA) was used as the model organic matter.

[Speciation and characterization of interaction of PACls with sulfate].

Huan jing ke xue= Huanjing kexue, 2003
The interaction of sulfate with various PACl was investigated by using Ferron assay, chemical analysis and SEM. The experimental results showed that the basicity (B = [OH]/[Al]) exhibited significant role in the PACl-sulfate reaction. It indicated different species in various PACl under different reaction pathway with sulfate.

Studies on Oilfield Wastewater Purification with PACL and DMDAAC Polymer Flocculant

2018
Polyaluminum chloride (PACl) coagulant and poly (dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride-AM) flocculants were applied to purify the wastewater from Zhanazhol oilfield, Kazakhstan. Water quality measurement showed that suspended solids content (SS) and particles size in wastewater were in excess of the reinjection standard for Kazakhstan.

Coagulation of micro-polluted Pearl River water with IPF-PACls.

Journal of environmental sciences (China), 2004
Water samples collected from early March 2001 to the end of April 2002 at the branch of Pearl River around the Guangzhou City were analyzed for its micro-polluted characteristics. The coagulation behavior of polyaluminum chlorides (PACls) was then examined focusing on the effect of primary water quality and speciation distribution.

Quantitative Model of Coagulation with Inorganic Polymer Flocculant PACl: Application of the PCNM

Journal of Environmental Engineering, 2006
In this paper, a quantitative model of coagulation with inorganic polymer flocculants (IPFs) was investigated, using polyauminum chloride (PACl) as an example. Application of a modified precipitation charge-neutralization model (M-PCNM) was examined and discussed, including variation of dose, pH, and B value on the resulting coagulation diagram.

[Breakage and regrowth of flocs coagulation with polyaluminum chloride (PACl)].

Huan jing ke xue= Huanjing kexue, 2008
The conventional jar test and the monitoring technique of floc size in line were employed to investigate the breakage and regrowth of the flocs formed by PACl. It was found that the breakage and regrowth of flocs varied with coagulation zones. The flocs formed in stabilization zone were of high strength and difficult to break, and could regrow better ...

Effect of pre-ozonation on coagulation with IPF–PACls: Role of coagulant speciation

Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 2007
Abstract Inorganic polymer flocculants (IPFs)–polyaluminum chloride (PACl) with various B (OH/Al ratio) values were synthesized and applied to examine the effect of ozone on coagulation. Formation and performance of flocs during coagulation processes were monitored using photometric dispersion analyzer (PDA).

PacL-organized membrane-associated effluxosomes coordinate multi-metal resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis

AbstractMetal ion homeostasis is crucial for bacterial pathogens to withstand metal-induced stress during infection. However, the mechanisms underlying bacterial resistance to metal stress remain incompletely understood, particularly how bacteria coordinate responses to simultaneous exposure to multiple metals.

[Physical and fractal properties of polyaluminum chloride-humic acid (PACl-HA) flocs].

Huan jing ke xue= Huanjing kexue, 2008
The powder of polyaluminum chloride-humic acid (PACl-HA) flocs was prepared by cryo-freezing-vacuum-drying method. These flocs were characterized by X-ray diffractometry, FTIR spectroscopy, elementary analysis and surface area determination. The results show that these flocs are amorphous, mainly composed by elements of C, O, Al, and reserve some ...

Factor Analysis of MCMI-II and PACL Basic Personality Scales in a College Sample

Journal of Personality Assessment, 1991
This study examined factor dimensions common to the eight basic personality scales of the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-II (MCMI-II; Millon, 1987) and Personality Adjective Check List (PACL; Strack, 1987, 1990). Subjects were 140 college students (65 men and 75 women).
