Differences in coagulation efficiencies between PACl and PICl

open access: closedJournal AWWA, 2003
Laboratory preformed inorganic polymer flocculants—polyaluminum chloride (PACl) and polyiron chloride (PICl)—were compared for their coagulation efficiency according to various basicity (B) values. Conventional jar tests were combined with electrophoretic mobility (EM) measurements.

PaCL: Patient-aware contrastive learning through metadata refinement for generalized early disease diagnosis

open access: closedComputers in Biology and Medicine, 2023
Early diagnosis plays a pivotal role in effectively treating numerous diseases, especially in healthcare scenarios where prompt and accurate diagnoses are essential. Contrastive learning (CL) has emerged as a promising approach for medical tasks, offering advantages over traditional supervised learning methods.

Optimization of PACl dose to reduce RO cleaning in an IMS

open access: closedDesalination, 2008
Abstract In order to ensure stable treated water quality and to reduce chemical costs in any treatment plant it is necessary to study and optimize the coagulant dosing control (CDC). This research focused on the affects of coagulant in the integrated membrane (UF & RO) system employed for industrial water production.

Coagulation of micro-polluted Pearl River water with IPF-PACls.

open access: closedJournal of environmental sciences (China), 2004
Water samples collected from early March 2001 to the end of April 2002 at the branch of Pearl River around the Guangzhou City were analyzed for its micro-polluted characteristics. The coagulation behavior of polyaluminum chlorides (PACls) was then examined focusing on the effect of primary water quality and speciation distribution.

Understanding effects of water characteristics on natural organic matter treatability by PACl and a novel PACl-chitosan coagulants

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2013
In this study, we investigated the relationship between water characteristics and removal of natural organic matter (NOM) using polyaluminium chloride (PACl) and a newly developed coagulant obtained by hybridising PACl with chitosan (PACl-chitosan) for two different types of water. Using UV-visible spectroscopy analysis, we showed that PACl-chitosan is

Dynamic analysis of coagulation with alum and PACl

Journal AWWA, 1998
PACl more effectively coagulates fine particles than alum. The coagulation kinetics of polyaluminum chloride (PACl) and alum applied to kaolin clay suspensions were compared in batch experiments. Increasing aluminum (Al) dosages reduced the time required for particles destabilization and increased the rate at which the number of primary particles ...

Characteristics of BPA removal from water by PACl-Al13 in coagulation process

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2009
This paper discussed the coagulation characteristics of BPA with polyaluminum chloride (PACl-Al(13)) as coagulant, examined the impact of coagulation pH, PACl-Al(13) dosage, TOC (total organic carbon) and turbidity on BPA removal, and analyzed the possible dominant mechanisms in water coagulation process.

New insights into membrane fouling in coagulation-ultrafiltration by cake characteristics analysis: A case study with PACl-Al13 and PACl

Journal of Environmental Sciences
Membrane fouling is a bottleneck issue that hindered the further application of ultrafiltration technology. To alleviate membrane fouling, coagulation-ultrafiltration (C-UF) process using polyaluminum chloride (PACl) and PACl-Al13 with high proportion of Al13O4(OH)247+ as coagulants, respectively, were investigated at various pH conditions.

Properties of Microfiltration of Humic Acid Solution Flocculated with PACl

KAGAKU KOGAKU RONBUNSHU, 2011

Interaction of PACls with sulfate.

Journal of environmental sciences (China), 2004
This article discusses the influential factors on Al13 separation considering the interaction of sulfate with various polyaluminum chloride (PACl). The experimental results showed that the basicity (B = [OH/[Al]), the concentration of PACl and Al/SO4 ratio exhibited significant roles in the PACl-sulfate reaction.
