[Paecilomyces infection].

Problemy tuberkuleza, 1989
The clinical and experimental studies showed that etiology and pathogenesis of allergic alveolitis in the inhabitants of the Samarkand Region stem from mycosepsis caused by Paecilomyces variotii Bainier, that is immunocomplex affection of the small and middle vessels and cell-mediated granulomatous inflammation of the tissues.

Paecilomyces fungus infection of the paranasal sinuses

International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, 2000
Fungal infections caused by Paecilomyces species are very rare and occur in adult patients with impaired host defences or following foreign body implants. They are found worldwide in soil and decaying vegetation. We describe a case of an 8 year old child who came with complaints of left sided nasal obstruction and discharge, telecanthus, diplopia and ...

Exogenous Fungal Endophthalmitis Caused by Paecilomyces

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1975
A 17-year-old white boy developed a fulminating corneal infection and endophthalmitis in his left eye after trauma. He was treated with antibiotics and corticosteroids for one week prior to diagnosis. A saprophytic fungus, Paecilomyces viridis, was cultured from corneal scrapings and was demonstrated in the vitreous cavity by histopathologic ...

On the relationships of Paecilomyces sect. Isarioidea species

Mycological Research, 2005
Phylogenetic relationships of Paecilomyces sect. Isarioidea species were analysed using the beta-tubulin gene and ITS rDNA. Maximum parsimony analyses showed that the section does not form a natural taxonomic group and is polyphyletic within the Hypocreales.

Characterization of an Indonesian Isolate of Paecilomyces reniformis

Mycopathologia, 2006
An entomopathogenic fungus (IndGH 96), identified as Paecilomyces reniformis, was isolated from long-horned grasshoppers (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae) in Sulawesi, Indonesia. The phenotypic and molecular data identified the IndGH 96 as a P. reniformis.

An antigenic water-soluble glucogalactomannan extracted from cell walls of Paecilomyces fumosoroseus and Paecilomyces farinosus

Microbiology, 1996
The water-soluble fraction (F1S) obtained after solubilizing in alkali the cell walls of four strains of Paecilomyces fumosoroseus and two of Paecilomyces farinosus amounted to 8.3-14.5% of the dry cell wall material. Two polysaccharides, F1S-A (13-20%) and F1S-B (57-68%) were separated from F1S by gel permeation through Sepharose CL-6B. 1H and 13C NMR

Onychomycosis by Paecilomyces lilacinus.

Giornale italiano di dermatologia e venereologia : organo ufficiale, Societa italiana di dermatologia e sifilografia, 2017
The authors describe a case of onychomycosis by Paecilomyces lilacinus in an 81-year-old Caucasian woman. The infection was characterized clinically by yellow-brown discoloration of the nail plate, distal-lateral onycholysis and subungual hyperkeratosis of the first left toenail. Microscopic examination showed irregular hyphae. Four cultures showed the

First report of occurrence of Paecilomyces formosus and Paecilomyces parvisporus in Brazil

2017
Prospecting for fungal strains with biotechnological potential has been stimulated in recent years, especially in geographical regions with high biodiversity such as the Brazilian savannas, where microbial diversity is under environmental risk. Aiming to isolate and identify fungi species that could potentially be used in the bioethanol industry, we ...
