Purification and characterization of Paecilomyces lilacinus dextranase
Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 1985Abstract Two dextranase isoenzymes [endo-(1,6)-α- d -glucan-6-glucanohydrolase, EC 3.2.1.11] have been isolated from a crude enzyme powder prepared from the culture supernatant of Paecilomyces lilacinus . Purification was achieved by means of a two-stage ion-exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose.

Cutaneous mycosis caused by Paecilomyces lilacinus.
Archives of dermatology, 1978A 20-year-old woman had erythematous scaly plaques persistent for 15 years on the left cheek. Cultures from scales and biopsy specimens on Sabouraud's glucose agar repeatedly yielded floccose lilac colonies, and those on a Czapek's solution agar plate developed deep purplish red pigment, which is characteristic of Paecilomyces lilacinus.

Paecilomyces lilacinus Endophthalmitis With Secondary Keratitis
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1997A case of endogenous fungous endophthalmitis with secondary pupillary block glaucoma and corneal invasion requiring penetrating keratoplasty is reported. Initially Paecilomyces lilacinus was isolated from a vitreous and a lens aspirate, but a second vitreous tap revealed Aspergillus fumigatus and P lilacinus.

Orbital paecilomycosis due toPaecilomyces lilacinus(Thom) Samson
Medical Mycology, 1979The first case of orbital paecilomycosis is described. Fungal hyphae were found in a KOH preparation of the granulomatous tissue, removed from the orbit, and also in histological sections. Culture of the tissue was positive for fungus which was resistant to cycloheximide (0.5 g/l).

Paecilomyces lilacinus infection in an immunocompromised patient.
The Journal of the Louisiana State Medical Society : official organ of the Louisiana State Medical Society, 1991Systemic infections caused by saprophytic fungi are being diagnosed more frequently. We describe the second reported instance of Paecilomyces lilacinus causing infection in an immunocompromised host. The diagnosis and treatment of this unusual pathogen are discussed.
