Reniform nematode impact on cotton growth and management strategies: A review
Abstract Rotylenchulus reniformis Linford and Oliveira (reniform nematode) infestation has been a concerning issue in the Cotton Belt region of the United States for the past decade. Reniform nematode damage is more evident on cotton compared to other row crops in US Mid‐South because they share common edaphic conditions to sustain and develop.

Abstract Prebiotics have long been used to modulate the gut microbiota and improve host health. Most established prebiotics are nondigestible carbohydrates, especially short‐chain oligosaccharides. Recently, gluco‐oligosaccharides (GlcOS) with 2–10 glucose residues and one or more O‐glycosidic linkage(s) have been found to exert prebiotic potentials ...

A Comparative Study on the Biosorption of Cd2+ onto Paecilomyces lilacinus XLA and Mucoromycote sp. XLC. [PDF]
The filamentous fungi XLA and XLC isolated from Cd-contaminated soil were identified morphologically and phylogenetically as Paecilomyces lilacinus and Mucoromycote sp., respectively. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of Cd2+, Co2+, Cu2+, Zn2+,

Evaluating microbial contaminations of alternative heating oils
Abstract Since 2008, European and German legislative initiatives for climate protection and reduced dependency on fossil resources led to the introduction of biofuels as CO2‐reduced alternatives in the heating oil sector. In the case of biodiesel, customers were confronted with accelerated microbial contaminations during storage. Since then, other fuel

Saprotrophic soil fungi to improve phosphorus solubilisation and release. In vitro abilities of several species [PDF]
Modern agriculture is dependent on phosphate rock (PR), which is a nonrenewable resource. Improvement of phosphorus (P) availability for crops in agricultural soils represents a key strategy to slow down the depletion of PR. The aim of this study was to

Microbial antibiotics take the lead in the fight against plant pathogens
The potential of plant microbiome for the development of novel biopesticides for the integrated pest management of agricultural crops. Abstract The plant microbiome is essential for plant fitness and health. Antibiotics produced by plant‐associated bacteria have been shown to play an important role in protecting plant hosts against phytopathogens. Here,
