Two new glycosides from the root bark of Paeonia ostii

open access: yesNatural Product Research
Two new glycosides, ethyl-O-β-D-furanosyl-(1→6)-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1) and (5-′′)-galloyl-ethyl-O-β-D-furanosyl-(1→6)-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), together with eight known compounds (3–10) were obtained from the n-BuOH extraction of Paeonia ostii. Their structures were identified via the extensive spectroscopic analysis.

The Development of Paeonia ostii Seeds and Oil Quality Formation

open access: yesHortScience, 2020
Paeonia ostii is a woody oil crop with potential value as an edible oil. With the aim of acquiring systematic knowledge of the development of P. ostii seeds, the oil content, biomass, and water content of the seeds were determined.

Efficient Plant Regeneration via Meristematic Nodule Culture in Paeonia Ostii ‘Feng Dan’

open access: yesPlant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture (PCTOC), 2021
Abstract Tree peony (Paeonia sect. Moutan) is an economically important multipurpose woody plant in terms of its medical, ornamental and oil values, but its breeding and industrial development are severely limited due to inefficient traditional propagation methods and existing in vitro regeneration systems.

The complete chloroplast genome of the first registered Paeonia Itoh hybrid cv. Hexie in China

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources
The first registered Paeonia Itoh hybrid cv. Hexie in China is a naturally occurring intersectional hybrid of Sect. Paeonia and Sect. Moutan. In this study, we sequenced, assembled, and analyzed the complete chloroplast genome of Paeonia Itoh hybrid cv ...

The chloroplast genome of the allotriploid, Paeonia × lemoinei cv. Oukan, and its phylogenetic implications

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources
The chloroplast genome of Paeonia × lemoinei cv. Oukan, a newly identified allotriploid from Paeonia sect. Moutan, shows typical tree peony features in size, structure, and gene content. A maximum-likelihood phylogenetic analysis revealed cv.

Four new phenolic constituents from root barks of Paeonia ostii

open access: yesNatural Product Research
The Paeonia ostii, also known as "Feng Dan" have a crucial role in folk medicine to treat lumbar muscles strain, knee osteoarthritis and cervical spondylosis. In this study, four new phenolic compounds, specifically Paeoniaostiph A–E (1–4) phenolic compounds were characterised through spectroscopic techniques, including 1D and 2D NMR, HRESIMS, UV, IR ...

Characteristics of Paeonia ostii seed oil body and OLE17.5 determining oil body morphology

open access: yesFood Chemistry, 2020
Paeonia ostii is an emerging woody oil crop and cultivated on a large scale in China. This study attempted to characterize the characteristics of P. ostii seed oil body (OB) and found the key genes related to its morphology. The results showed that P. ostii seed oil contained five dominant fatty acid compositions that were stored in OBs.

Two new acetoisovanillone glycosides from the water-soluble fraction of Paeonia ostii

open access: yesNatural Product Research, 2019
The cortex root of Paeonia ostii, is used as a traditional Chinese medicine for treating female diseases. Phytochemical investigation of the water-soluble fraction of the plant led to the isolation of two new acetoisovanillone glycosides: acetoisovanillone-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1) and 2-hydroxy-acetoisovanillone-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2).
