A Novel Strategy for Unveiling Spatial Distribution Pattern of Gallotannins in Paeonia rockii and Paeonia ostii Based on LC-QTRAP-MS. [PDF]
Gallotannins (GTs) are a series of hydrolyzable tannins with multiple health-promoting effects. In this study, an integrated liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) strategy was developed for unveiling the spatial distribution pattern of GTs in the emerging oilseed crops Paeonia rockii and P. ostii.

Virus-induced gene silencing in the perennial woody Paeonia ostii
Tree peony is a perennial deciduous shrub with great ornamental and medicinal value. A limitation of its current functional genomic research is the lack of effective molecular genetic tools. Here, the first application of a Tobacco rattle virus (TRV)-based virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS ...

Photosynthesis, growth, and yield of Paeonia ostii in tree-based agroforestry systems [PDF]
Paeonia ostii T. Hong & J.X. Zhang, an emerging oil crop, was intercropped with 3-year-old plantations of pawpaw [Chaenomeles sinensis (Thouin.) Koehne], Chinese toon (Toona sinensis Roem.), and walnut (Juglans regia L.). In order to achieve a better production system, we studied the effects of intercropping on the photosynthesis, growth, and yield of ...

Seedling establishment characteristics of Paeonia ostii var. lishizhenii
The viability of Paeonia ostii var. lishizhenii seed used in this investigation was around 85% when tested under optimum conditions of tissue culture. Seedling establishment embodied radicle protrusion and breaking of epicotyl dormancy. The seed coat, an endosperm extract, and GA3 significantly influenced embryo emergence.

Characterization and bioinformatics analysis of ptc-miR396g-5p in response to drought stress of Paeonia ostii. [PDF]
Drought is one of the main abiotic stress factors affecting yield of Paeonia ostii. In this study, we conducted bioinformatics and differential expression analyses of P. ostii 'Feng Dan' ptc-miR396g-5p in leaf samples under different drought stress. ptc-miR396g-5p belongs to the miR396 family.
