Diversity in the vessel elements of Ranunculaceae‐Paeoniaceae complex

Feddes Repertorium, 1981
AbstractVessel members of the Ranunculaceae and Paeoniaceae are illustrated and described. On the basis of the size the vessels of both the families can be categorised into: long, medium and short. The vessels of Ranunculaceae are characterised by commonly simple and occasionally or rarely scalariform, and those of Paeoniaceae by predominently ...

Chromosomal inversion heterozygosity in Paeonia intermedia (Paeoniaceae)

Plant Science, 2007
Abstract Meiosis of three populations (22 individuals) in Paeonia intermedia C.A. Mey. (Paeoniaceae) was investigated. Meiotic aberrations occurred so frequently that all individuals were found with no exception to be paracentric inversion heterozygotes, marked by chromosomal bridges and fragments at either anaphase I or II.

REPRODUCTIVE PROFICIENCY IN PAEONIA CALIFORNICA (PAEONIACEAE)

American Journal of Botany, 1976
Study of three populations of geophytic Paeonia californica in southern California revealed considerable variation, within and between populations, in both potential and in realized seed output. Plants are weakly self‐compatible, but natural seed set (x = 4.2 seeds per carpel) is closer to seed set produced in hand cross‐pollinations (x = 4.5) than in ...

2021
The species diversity within the genus Paeonia (Paeoniaceae) in the flora of Ukraine was studied inc luding native and cultivated species. There are two species in the native flora (Paeonia daurica Andrews, P. tenuifolia L.) and seven cultivated species (P. anomala L., P. caucasica (Schipcz.) Schipcz., P. delavayi Franch., P. hybrida Pall., P. mascula (

Microsatellite markers in the tree peony, Paeonia suffruticosa (Paeoniaceae)

American Journal of Botany, 2010
• Premise of the study: Microsatellite primers were developed in the tree peony, Paeonia suffruticosa, to perform paternity tests as well as assignment to variety in special Austrian collections.• Methods and Results: Using SSR‐enriched libraries and EST‐mining, 8 polymorphic primer sets were identified in Austrian collections of Paeonia sect.

Microsatellite markers for the Chinese herbaceous peony Paeonia lactiflora (Paeoniaceae)

American Journal of Botany, 2011
• Premise of the study: Microsatellite (simple sequence repeat, SSR) primers were developed for the Chinese peony, P. lactiflora, to investigate the diversity within Chinese peony germplasm resources.• Methods and Results: Using an SSR‐enriched genomic library, a set of 10 unique polymorphic genomic SSRs was developed and characterized.
