Neste trabalho e proposta a sinonimizacao de Paepalanthus spirifer Silveira em P. polyanthus (Bong.) Kunth. P. spirifer e conhecida apenas por seu holotipo, coletaclo na Serra do Cipo, MG. Sua caracterizacao esta associada especialmente a presenca de folhas dispostas em duas espirais e 3 lobos no tubo da corola da flor estaminada.

Abstract The new 6-methoxyquercetin-3- O -(6″- E -feruloyl)-β- d -glucopyranoside ( 1 ) was isolated from the aerial parts of Paepalanthus polyanthus and characterized by spectroscopic methods, mainly 1D and 2D NMR experiments, as well as electrospray mass spectrometry.
