Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Utilità e danno della “parte maledetta” nell’economia dell’immaginario

open access: yesIm@go. A Journal of the Social Imaginary, 2017
About the utility and liability of the “accursed share” in the economy of imaginary. The “Evil” as excess, waste, total consumption; or “bad”, “accursed” because it destabilizes the current “state of affairs”.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Sulle tracce di Riccardo: l’immaginario teatrale del male tra teatro del sangue e teatro della malattia.

open access: yesIm@go. A Journal of the Social Imaginary, 2017
On Richard's Trace: The Theater Imagination of Evil Between Theater of Blood and Theater of Sickness. In 1977 Carmelo Bene met the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze whom tells his idea about Richard III mise-en-scène, that is to equip the actor of huge ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Imago-politics of migration: mexicanities, xenophobia & the fake “other”

open access: yesIm@go. A Journal of the Social Imaginary, 2020
Migrations historically build up the imaginary of territories and mold national identities; phenomena such as the migrant caravans (from Central America to the U.S.- Mexican border) introduce the opportunity to rethink the diversity of the ...

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.
