TMEM16A channel signalling microdomains in the regulation of vascular function

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Schematic representation of TMEM16A channel signalling microdomains. Calcium influx or calcium release from the endoplasmic/sarcoplasmic reticulum (ER/SR) activates TMEM16A channels through interactions with regulatory proteins in vascular smooth muscle cells or endothelial cells. TMEM16A channel activation drives chloride efflux,

PM2.5-bound oxygenated PAHs, nitro-PAHs and parent-PAHs from the atmosphere of a Chinese megacity: Seasonal variation, sources and cancer risk assessment [PDF]

open access: yesScience of the Total Environment, 2014
Polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs) in air particulate matter contribute considerably to the health risk of air pollution. The objectives of this study were to assess the occurrence and variation in concentrations and sources of PM2.5-bound PACs ...

Polycyclic aromatic compounds (PAHs and oxygenated PAHs) and trace metals in fish species from Ghana (West Africa): Bioaccumulation and health risk assessment [PDF]

open access: yesEnvironment International, 2014
We report the concentrations of 28 PAHs, 15 oxygenated PAHs (OPAHs) and 11 trace metals/metalloids (As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Se, and Zn) in muscle and gut + gill tissues of demersal fishes (Drapane africana, Cynoglossus senegalensis and ...

Bioavailability of PAHs:  Effects of Soot Carbon and PAH Source

Environmental Science & Technology, 2004
The bioavailability of 38 individual polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) compounds was determined through calculation of biota-sediment-accumulation factors (BSAF). BSAF values were calculated from individual PAH concentrations in freshwater mussel, marine clam, and sediment obtained from field and laboratory bioaccumulation studies.
