Corrosion Inhibition of S275 Carbon Steel in CO2 Capture Systems Using Monoethanolamine (MEA) Solvent

Corrosion inhibitors CuSO4 and NaVO3 achieved up to 98% inhibition efficiency for carbon steel S275 in CO2‐loaded MEA solvent, reducing corrosion rates to 9.4 µm/year—outperforming costly stainless steel SS 316 L at a fraction of the cost. ABSTRACT Corrosion in CO2 capture units significantly impacts safety and costs.
