PDGF‐BB‐enriched collagen matrix to treat multiple gingival recessions with the tunneled coronally advanced flap

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, Volume 12, Issue 4, Page 224-232, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Background With technological advancements in reconstructive periodontology, traditional protocols for the treatment of gingival recessions (GRs) can be challenged. This manuscript presents preliminary findings of a novel minimally‐invasive approach for the regenerative treatment of multiple adjacent GR defects. Methods Two healthy adults were

Postoperative brain volumes are associated with one-year neurodevelopmental outcome in children with severe congenital heart disease [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Children with congenital heart disease (CHD) remain at risk for neurodevelopmental impairment despite improved peri- and intraoperative care. Our prospective cohort study aimed to determine the relationship between perioperative brain volumes and neurodevelopmental outcome in neonates with severe CHD. Pre- and postoperative cerebral MRI was acquired in

Peri-AIIMS: Perioperative Artificial Intelligence Driven Integrated Modeling of Surgeries using Anesthetic, Physical and Cognitive Statuses for Predicting Hospital Outcomes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The association between preoperative cognitive status and surgical outcomes is a critical, yet scarcely explored area of research. Linking intraoperative data with postoperative outcomes is a promising and low-cost way of evaluating long-term impacts of surgical interventions. In this study, we evaluated how preoperative cognitive status as measured by

Machine-based Multimodal Pain Assessment Tool for Infants: A Review [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Bedside caregivers assess infants' pain at constant intervals by observing specific behavioral and physiological signs of pain. This standard has two main limitations. The first limitation is the intermittent assessment of pain, which might lead to missing pain when the infants are left unattended.

Health‐related quality of life following total minimally invasive, hybrid minimally invasive or open oesophagectomy: a population‐based cohort study

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), EarlyView., 2020
All patients operated for oesophageal cancer in Sweden from 2013 to April 2018 were identified, and 246 patients were recruited to this population‐based nationwide Swedish study. The results show that longitudinal health‐related quality of life after minimally invasive oesophagectomy was similar to that of the open surgical approach.

European multicentre study on outcome of surgery for sporadic primary hyperparathyroidism

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), EarlyView., 2020
Some 5861 patients undergoing first‐time surgery for sporadic primary hyperparathyroidism were registered in the Eurocrine® database between 2015 and 2018. The use of intraoperative parathyroid hormone measurement decreased the risk of conversion and persistent hypercalcaemia.

Possibly more favorable short‐term outcomes with minimally invasive surgery than with open surgery in total gastrectomy for locally advanced gastric cancer: A single high‐volume center study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
The MTG group had a significantly lower incidence of severe postoperative complications than the OTG group. Moreover, the incidences of pancreatic fistula and intra‐abdominal abscess were also significantly lower in the MTG than in the OTG group. Additionally, the median hospital stay for the MTG group was significantly shorter than that of the OTG ...
