Evaluation of Varnishes to Slow Down the Aging of Plasticized PVC

Varnish effectiveness in plasticized PVC strongly depends on both formulation and degradation state. A polyurethane varnish effectively limits color change and plasticizer loss in unaged PVC without phosphate plasticizers, whereas no protective effect is observed for phosphate‐containing PVC.

Statistical shape modeling of the human inner ear through micro‐computed tomography imaging

In this study, 54 cadaveric temporal bone specimens underwent high‐resolution micro‐CT imaging. Images were semi‐automatically segmented and converted to 3D surface mesh models for morphological measurement and analysis. Statistical shape models were created for the inner ear, cochlea, and vestibular system, as well as for sex‐ and side‐based subgroups.

Abstract Cells derived from the endocardium, epicardium, cardiac neural crest, and second heart field play a critical role in the formation of the valvuloseptal structures of the heart. Previous studies have shown that the expression of the transcription factor SOX9 in these cell populations is essential in the regulation of this process.
