Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Physiological implications of pair-bond status in greylag geese

open access: yes, 2011
In group-living vertebrates, reliable social allies play a decisive role in dealing with stressors. For example, support by social allies is known to dampen glucocorticoid responses.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Bis{bis[2-(diisopropylphosphanyl)phenyl]phosphanido-κ3P,P′,P′′}chloridonickel(II)

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2012
In the title compound, [Ni(C24H36P3)Cl], the NiII atom adopts a distorted square-planar geometry with the two neutral P atoms of the tridentate ligand trans to one another.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

MODEL-CALCULATIONS OF CHEMICAL INTERACTIONS .3. ROTATIONAL ENERGY PROFILES IN SIMPLE MOLECULES - EVALUATION, ADDITIVITY AND ROLE OF BOND BOND, BOND LONE-PAIR AND LONE-PAIR LONE-PAIR INTERACTIONS

open access: yes, 1991
Rotational isomerism in ethane, methylamine, methanol, fluoromethylamine, hydrazine, hydroxylamine, hydrogen peroxide and difluorine dioxide has been analysed using basis sets of symmetrically orthogonalized hybrid AOs.

An experiment on the function of the long-term pair bond period in the socially monogamous bearded reedling

open access: yes, 2011
Pair bond duration and age are suggested to be important determinants for reproductive success in long-term monogamous pair bonding. These two effects are generally difficult to separate, however, and experimental approaches are scarce. We experimentally

Influence of lone-pair activity on the bond parameters of lead bromide, lead chloride and lead oxide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Lead Pb(II) is challenging environment to study because it has electron lone pair, coordination number would vary from 2 to 10. The current study chooses chlorine, oxygen and bromine as coordination atoms because it bonded with one type of element in ...

Bond-Dissociation Energies to Probe Pyridine Electronic Effects on Organogold(III) Complexes: From Methodological Developments to Application in π‑Backdonation Investigation and Catalysis

open access: yes, 2023
In this work, we report on the synthesis of several organogold(III) complexes based on 4,4′-diterbutylbiphenyl (C^C) and 2,6-bis(4-terbutylphenyl)pyridine (C^N^C) ligands and bond with variously substituted pyridine ligands (pyrR).
