Pairs of promoter pairs in a web of transcription
Nature Genetics, 2016A new analysis has characterized a fundamental building block of complex transcribed loci. Constellations of core promoters can generally be reduced to pairs of divergent transcription units, where the distance between the pairs of transcription units correlates with constraints on genomic context, which in turn contribute to transcript fate.

The search for new radicals goes on. Recently R. L. Snider ([6], see page 216) introduced the following notion. Let α and β be any two radicals. A ring R will be said to be an (α : β) ring if for any ideal A of R, we have α (R/A) ≧ β (R/A).

Cartan Pairs and Shared Orbit Pairs
Journal of Lie Theory, 2018We study a class of pairs of Lie algebras $(\g, \g_1)$ that we call Cartan pairs ; here $\g$ is semisimple and $\g_1$ is a reductive in $\g$ subalgebra. For these pairs, which generalize symmetric ones, we have standardly defined Cartan subspaces, and consequently the set of restricted roots $\Sigma(\g, \a)$.

Wiener, in 1914, reduced the theory of relations to that of classes by construing relations as classes of ordered pairs and defining the ordered pair in turn on the basis of class theory alone.1 The definition, as improved by Kuratowski,2 identifies the ordered pair x;y with uxyi(ix U iy).In terms of Russell's theory of types, x;y in the above sense is

Abstract A stochastic model for the formation of parasite pairs in the definite host is considered. An explicit expression for the expected number of pairs is derived and compared with alternative models.

Enzyme Dynamics Enzymes provide scaffolds that facilitate chemical reactions. Enzyme dynamics often enhance reactivity by allowing the enzyme to sample the transition state between reactants and products. Kim et al.

We provide a convenient mathematical framework that essentially encompasses all known pairing functions based on the Tate pairing and also applies to the Weil pairing. We prove non-degeneracy and bounds on the lowest possible degree of these pairing functions and show how endomorphisms can be used to achieve a further degree reduction.
