Minimally Invasive Surgically Assisted Miniscrew Anchored Rapid Palatal Expansion (sa-MARPE) Technique: Avoiding Conventional Horizontal Maxillary Osteotomies – A Technical Note

open access: closedJournal of Stomatology Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
In skeletally mature patients, transverse maxillary deficiency poses a significant challenge due to the rigidity of craniofacial sutures. Intraoperative Expansion of the Palate by the Tumescent Technique

Plastic &amp Reconstructive Surgery, 1997
Intraoperative rapid expansion of soft tissue of the palate is reported. Tissue is recruited by repeated injections of an isotonic solution in a tumescent-like technique, thus producing increasing swelling of the palatal soft tissue. Straight direct closure of palatal clefts and fistulas is achieved with minimal scarring at the midline, no secondary ...

Technique of Rapid Expansion in Patients with Cleft Lip and Palate

British Journal of Orthodontics, 1980
A new device for rapid expansion of the maxillary arch in cleft palate patients, is described. Its main advantages are that it is designed to prevent uncontrolled relapse while the expansion screw is changed and while a retaining arch is fabricated. A comparison of two different rapid palatalexpansion techniques from the point of root resorption

American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 1994
The aim of this investigation is to compare Haas and Cast Cap Splint devices from the point of root resorption. The material comprised thirty-eight upper and twelve lower premolar teeth derived from nineteen patients who required RME and subsequent removal of the first premolars as part of their full banded orthodontic treatment.

[Combined rapid palatal expansion (RPE), edgewise technique and protraction headgear in correction of skeletal Class III malocclusion].

Hua xi kou qiang yi xue za zhi = Huaxi kouqiang yixue zazhi = West China journal of stomatology, 2004
The skeletal Class III malocclusion often occurs in ethnic Asia population, and it is difficult to obtain an ideal results if only treated with protraction headgear (PH). However, the combined rapid palatal expansion (RPE), Edgewise Technique and PH can reach it, so the authors investigated the methods and characteristics of combined RPE, Edgewise ...
