Atomistic Potentials for Palladium-Silver Hydrides [PDF]

open access: yesModelling and Simulation in Materials Science and Engineering, 21, 045005 (2013), 2013
New EAM potentials for the ternary palladium-silver-hydrogen system are developed by extending a previously developed palladium-hydrogen potential. The ternary potentials accurately capture the heat of mixing and structural properties associated with solid solution alloys of palladium-silver.

Electron screening in palladium

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2023
The electron screening effect was studied in the 1H(7Li,α)4He, 1H(19F,αγ)16O and 2H(19F,p)20F nuclear reactions on two different hydrogen-containing palladium foils. In one of the targets we did not detect a large enhancement of the cross section due to electron screening, and in the second one we measured a high electron screening potential for all ...

Applications of Palladium-Catalyzed C–N Cross-Coupling Reactions

open access: yesChemical Reviews, 2016
Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions that form C–N bonds have become useful methods to synthesize anilines and aniline derivatives, an important class of compounds throughout chemical research.

Palladium gates for reproducible quantum dots in silicon [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports 8, 5690, (2018), 2017
We replace the established aluminium gates for the formation of quantum dots in silicon with gates made from palladium. We study the morphology of both aluminium and palladium gates with transmission electron microscopy. The native aluminium oxide is found to be formed all around the aluminium gates, which could lead to the formation of unintentional ...

Quasi-harmonic thermoelasticity of palladium, platinum, copper, and gold from first principles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
We calculate the temperature-dependent elastic constants of palladium, platinum, copper and gold within the quasi-harmonic approximation using a first-principles approach and evaluating numerically the second derivatives of the Helmholtz free-energy with respect to strain at the minimum of the free-energy itself.

Palladium-Catalyzed Transformations of Alkyl C-H Bonds.

open access: yesChemical Reviews, 2017
This Review summarizes the advancements in Pd-catalyzed C(sp3)-H activation via various redox manifolds, including Pd(0)/Pd(II), Pd(II)/Pd(IV), and Pd(II)/Pd(0).

Ab-initio investigation of phonon dispersion and anomalies in palladium [PDF]

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 10, 043025 (2008), 2006
In recent years, palladium has proven to be a crucial component for devices ranging from nanotube field effect transistors to advanced hydrogen storage devices. In this work, I examine the phonon dispersion of fcc Pd using first principle calculations based on density functional perturbation theory.

Ab initio study of metastable occupation of tetrahedral sites in palladium hydrides and its impact on superconductivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
A recent experimental work on palladium hydrides suggested that metastable structures with hydrogen atoms occupying tetrahedral sites could lead to superconductivity above 50 K, a huge increase compared to the 10 K critical temperature of the stable structure with all hydrogen atoms occupying octahedral sites.

Atomic-scale engineering of indium oxide promotion by palladium for methanol production via CO2 hydrogenation

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Metal promotion is broadly applied to enhance the performance of heterogeneous catalysts to fulfill industrial requirements. Still, generating and quantifying the effect of the promoter speciation that exclusively introduces desired properties and ...
