Fractionation and Characterization of Insolubles Formed in Palm Oil Biodiesel
During the last decade, biodiesel has emerged as a promising alternative to diesel. However, the sedimentation of some insoluble material in pure biodiesel has become a concern for its producers. This material easily drops out of solution, settles on the bottom of biodiesel storage tanks and forms deposits on vehicle fuel filters.

Effect Soursop Leaf Extract For Oxidation Stability Of Palm Oil Biodiesel and Soybean Oil Biodiesel
Abstract Biodiesel is one of the alternative energy sources for diesel oil substitutes. However, the unsaturated fatty acid contains in vegetable oils leads to the poor oxidation stability of biodiesel. One of the potential methods used to prevent or delay the oxidation reaction is the addition of antioxidants because the process is much

Abstract This study developed an enzymatic process to add value to palm oil fatty acid distillate (PFAD) and glycerol, resulting in the production of monoacylglycerides (MAG) and diacylglycerides (DAG). The biocatalyst loading (Novozym 435) and molar ratio of reagents were evaluated to obtain a suitable reaction condition in terms of space–time yield ...

Abstract The immobilization of lipase B from Candida antarctica (CALB) on an amino‐epoxy functionalized magnetic support (Fe3O4‐PEI‐DGEBA) resulted in a highly stable and efficient biocatalyst for biofuel production from tilapia oil. The synthesized support was characterized using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray ...

Implementing a palm oil‐based biodiesel policy: The case of Thailand [PDF]
AbstractRenewable energy promotion is recognized as an important goal in international climate policies in order to reduce CO2‐emissions. Biodiesel can potentially be an important contributor in this respect, especially in Thailand with its large biomass production from oil palm cultivation.
