Eu2O3-functionalized ZnO/palygorskite

open access: yesRSC Advances, 2013
Eu2O3-functionalized ZnO/palygorskite was synthesized in a two-step method, and was thoroughly characterized. Energy was transferred from Eu2O3 to ZnO, but not from ZnO to Eu2O3, in contrast to literature reports. The interaction between Eu2O3 and ZnO directly influenced the energy transfer process.

Study of the metal ion adsorption capacity of palygorskite by computer simulation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society
Palygorskite is a magnesium-rich aluminosilicate clay mineral with a unique chain-layered structure. This structure gives palygorskite a large specific surface area and interesting physical properties.

From spent dye-loaded palygorskite to a multifunctional palygorskite/carbon/Ag nanocomposite

open access: yesRSC Advances, 2016
Palygorskite (PAL) has been widely used for adsorption removal of dyes from wastewater, but the dye-loaded PAL is usually discharged as solid waste because it is hardly regeneratable by conventional elution processes.

Octahedral cation distribution in palygorskite [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Mineralogist, 2009
The OH speciation of 18 palygorskite samples from various localities were evaluated by near infrared spectroscopy (NIR) and compared to the corresponding octahedral composition derived from independent, single-particle analytical electron microscopy (AEM).
