Palynological analysis of subsurface sediments in bore-hole TCC-19 near Chhendipada, Talcher Coalfield, Orissa reveals the presence of a Permian palynoflora both below and above the key marker horizon-a conglomeratic pebble bed. The presence of acritarchs in the assemblage suggests brackish water conditions; the palynofacies analysis indicates low ...

Abstract This study demonstrates the usefulness of palynofacies as a tool for characterizing the origin, transport, and settling of particulate organic matter preserved in fluvial plain sediments and its integration with diatoms for inferring past depositional environments. Palynofacies, diatoms, and organic geochemistry (S, C/S) data from a sediment

Abstract The area studied corresponds to the western margin of the Triassic intracratonic basin of southeastern France partly revealed in the French Central Massif. During this period, the sedimentation took place in an intermediate environment between the continental domain and the maritime domain.

Abstract A diverse and well-preserved non-marine and marine palynomorph assemblage was recovered from the Lower Cretaceous Yamama, Ratawi and Zubair formations in southern Iraq. A distinctive monospecific assemblage of the dinocyst Subtilisphaera in the Ru-19 Well, in addition to its frequent occurrence in other wells in the Zubair Formation ...

This study characterizes late-Holocene (past 3300 years) variations in organic matter deposition in the outer part of Igaliku Fjord, South Greenland, and uses this information to assess palaeohydrographic conditions. Except for two, all residues were characterized by abundant organic matter, with amorphous material dominating.

Abstract Palynofacies analyses were carried out on 272 core samples from two wells (GTP-17-SE and GTP-24-SE) in the Sergipe Basin, with the aim of reconstructing the paleoenvironments of the upper Aptian–middle Albian. For the palynofacies analysis the kerogen categories were counted and subjected to cluster analyses.

Palynological and Palynofacies analysis combined with sedimentological studies have been performed on Dalichai Formation, northeast of Semnan, in order to define its paleoenviromental interpretation. Based on petrographic studies of organic matter, three palynofacies types were recognized as PF-1, PF-2, and PF-3.

ABSTRACTThe deposition of the Menilite Beds began during the reorganization of the sea ways and the extensional stage of the Carpathian Basin evolution in the early Oligocene. The beginning of their sedimentation is considered to be isochronous throughout the entire marine basin, which formed a part of the Paratethys and was likely isolated from the ...

Abstract A quantitative palynofacies analysis of the Dinantian (Asbian) Glenade Sandstone Formation in two boreholes from the Glangevlin area, northwest Ireland, was carried out. It was found that the sands of the Glenade Sandstone Formation prograded rapidly over an arid lagoonal environment in the area of the more proximal northern borehole,
