Animal‐Mediated Dispersal and Clonal Growth Drive Prunus cerasus Invasion in Andean Temperate Forest

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Prunus cerasus reproduces by clonality and by seed dispersal and germination. P. cerasus is invading Patagonian protected areas. The relative relevance of germination and clonal reproduction changes along the time of P. cerasus arrival at a site. Seed dispersal by foxes is primarily responsible for the spread of P. cerasus to new areas.
