Models of Virus-Immune Dynamics and Drug Resistant Virus Infections

open access: yes, 2006
Models for the activity of a virus within a host describe the interaction between virus, the cells they infect and the attempts of the body's immune response to remove the infection. We aim to improve these models by incorporating more detailed, and more

Sequential Immune Acquisition of Monoclonal Antibodies Enhances Phagocytosis of Acinetobacter baumannii by Recognizing ATP Synthase

open access: yesVaccines
Objectives: The aim of this study was to prepare monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) that broadly target Acinetobacter baumannii and protect against infection by multi-drug-resistant (MDR) A. baumannii from different sources.

Cell‐Selective Delivery of RIBOTACs via an Anti‐EGFR Nanobody for Pancreatic Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces an innovative strategy for the tumor‐selective catalytic degradation of oncogenic non‐coding RNA by interfacing a ribonuclease‐recruiting small molecule (RIBOTAC) with an EGFR‐targeting nanobody via a CTSB (Cathepsin B)‐responsive linker.

Histone H3K18 Lactylation Promotes the Malignant Progression of Wilms Tumor via a PSRC1/AKT/HIF‐1α Positive Feedback Loop

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In nephroblastoma, aberrant glycolysis drives lactate accumulation, which elevates histone H3K18 lactylation via p300. Lactylation of the PSRC1 promoter activates its transcription. PSRC1 competitively binds AKT, relieving PTEN‐mediated inhibition and triggering AKT/mTOR/HIF‐1α signaling.

Membrane‐Active Peptide Protects Against Inflammation by Targeting NLRP3 Activation at the Trans‐Golgi Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The membrane‐active peptide Pep19‐2.5 reduces harmful inflammation by blocking activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome at trans‐Golgi network membranes. By targeting key membrane interactions, Pep19‐2.5 suppresses inflammatory IL‐1β production and alleviates allergic airway inflammation in mice, leading to reduced immune cell infiltration and improved ...

PEAR1 Promotes Glucose Metabolism Reprogramming in Sepsis‐Associated Acute Lung Injury via AARS1‐Mediated HIF‐1α Lactylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study revealed that a PEAR1/HIF‐1α/ glycolysis/lactate/H3K18la positive feedback loop in PMVECs that drives the development of S‐ALI. Mechanistically, PEAR1 mediates the binding of HIF‐1α to AARS1, leading to the lactylation of HIF‐1α, the primary lactylation site of which is K172.
