The effect of diabetes mellitus on portal blood hepatotrophic factors in dogs [PDF]
Ten nondiabetic dogs were submitted to a procedure called splanchnic division which directed the nutrient rich venous return from the intestines into the left lobes of the liver and the hormone rich pancreatico gastroduodeno splenic venous return into ...

ABSTRACT We report the case of a 69‐year‐old man with a branch‐duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm who underwent surveillance endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), which revealed a 15 mm hypoechoic mass in the pancreatic tail. Transgastric EUS‐guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) confirmed a diagnosis of resectable pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma ...

ANALYSIS OF EXISTING METHODS FOR PREVENTING COMPLICATIONS AFTER DISTAL PANCREATECTOMY
Distal pancreatectomy accounts for approximately one-third of all pancreatic surgeries. Despite the existing technological capabilities for performing the procedure safely, it remains associated with a high rate of serious postoperative complications ...

We have identified the spatial distribution of MHC‐I, CD4, CD8, CD19, PAK4, and LC3B using multiplex immunostaining. We then combined the data of multiplex immunostaining with clinical pathological data for the software analysis to create a model that can be used to predict the post‐resection survival of pancreatic cancer patients.

Optimal technical management of stump closure following distal pancreatectomy: a retrospective review of 215 cases. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Pancreatic fistula (PF) is a major source of morbidity following distal pancreatectomy (DP). Our aim was to identify risk factors related to PF following DP and to determine the impact of technique of transection and stump closure.

ABSTRACT Objective We aimed to, for the first time, assess the value of modified textbook outcome (mTO) in robot‐assisted middle pancreatectomy (RMP) procedures. Summary Background Data Pancreatic fistula remains to be the major complication after RMP. Textbook outcome (TO) is introduced to capture the most desirable surgical outcomes.

Is the covering of the resection margin after distal pancreatectomy advantageous? [PDF]
BACKGROUND: In recent years, many advances in pancreatic surgery have been achieved. Nevertheless, the rate of pancreatic fistula following pancreatic tail resection does not differ between various techniques, still reaching up to 30% in prospective ...
