Trypsin Inhibitor from Bovine Pancreatic Juice
Abstract A trypsin inhibitor has been isolated in 54% yield from bovine pancreatic juice by gel filtration on Sephadex G-75 at pH 8.1 and by elution chromatography on DEAE-cellulose at pH 9.0. It appears to be homogeneous by equilibrium chromatography, equilibrium sedimentation ultracentrifugation, and amino acid analysis, and on the basis of the ...

Collagenase Activity of Dog Pancreatic Juice
SummaryEvidence has been presented to show that pancreatic juice of the dog has the ability to digest collagen. This ability is not due to the proteolytic enzymes of the pancreas, trypsin, chymotrypsin, or carboxypertidase.

ABSTRACT Background Self‐expandable metal stents (SEMS) are often used for preoperative biliary drainage in pancreatoduodenectomy (PD); however, their impact on postoperative intra‐abdominal infection (POAI) remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical significance of SEMS in relation to POAI.

ABSTRACT Background Although prophylactic broad‐spectrum antibiotics can reduce postoperative complications after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD), the optimal regimen remains uncertain. This study evaluated the impact of prophylactic cefepime (CFPM) on surgical site infection (SSI) and severe morbidity after PD with preoperative biliary drainage.

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI‐MS) combined with thermodynamic modeling provides the first direct characterization of radium speciation in synthetic gastrointestinal biofluids. Free Ra2+ ions predominate with minimal protein binding and negligible EDTA complexation. Crown ethers enable effective Ra complexation.

This study reports the development of AMS@Eud core‐shell microspheres, combining calcium alginate and pH‐responsive Eudragit® L100, which exhibit exceptional gastrointestinal resistance and long‐term storage stability (only 5.28%–9.09% viability loss over 35 days at 4–25°C), and effectively alleviate inflammatory bowel disease via gut microbiota ...

ABSTRACT Oropharyngeal food processing exhibits a remarkable diversity among vertebrates, reflecting the evolution of specialised ‘processing centres’ associated with the mandibular, hyoid, and branchial arches. Although studies have detailed various food‐processing strategies and mechanisms across vertebrates, a coherent and comprehensive terminology ...
