Necrotizing Panniculitis as an Uncommon Manifestation of Acute Pancreatitis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Case Reports in Internal Medicine, 2017
Pancreatic panniculitis is a rare disorder affecting 2-3% of patients with pancreatic disease. European guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency: UEG, EPC, EDS, ESPEN, ESPGHAN, ESDO, and ESPCG evidence‐based recommendations

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, Volume 13, Issue 1, Page 125-172, February 2025.
Abstract Pancreatic exocrine insufficiency (PEI) is defined as a reduction in pancreatic exocrine secretion below the level that allows the normal digestion of nutrients. Pancreatic disease and surgery are the main causes of PEI. However, other conditions and upper gastrointestinal surgery can also affect the digestive function of the pancreas. PEI can

Artificial Intelligence in Pancreatic Imaging: A Systematic Review

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, Volume 13, Issue 1, Page 55-77, February 2025.
ABSTRACT The rising incidence of pancreatic diseases, including acute and chronic pancreatitis and various pancreatic neoplasms, poses a significant global health challenge. Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) for example, has a high mortality rate due to late‐stage diagnosis and its inaccessible location.

Analysis of a nonlinear free-boundary tumor model with angiogenesis and a connection between the nonnecrotic and necrotic phases [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
This paper is concerned with a nonlinear free boundary problem modeling the growth of spherically symmetric tumors with angiogenesis, set with a Robin boundary condition. In which, both nonnecrotic tumors and necrotic tumors are taken into consideration. The well-posedness and asymptotic behavior of solutions are studied.

Metabolic characteristics of acute necrotizing pancreatitis and chronic pancreatitis

open access: yesMolecular Medicine Reports, 2012
The etiology and pathogenesis of pancreatitis remains unclear. In the presence of pancreatic inflammation, metabolite abnormalities appear before transformation of tissue structure and changes in functions occur. Detection of abnormalities in metabolite levels facilitates a greater understanding of the pathophysiological events and aids in the early ...
