Effect of β-Glucan on cold-stress resistance of striped catfish, Pangasianodon hypophthalmus (Sauvage, 1878)

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2014
These experiments were performed to determine the effects of dietary β-glucan on stress responses of striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). Fish were fed for nine weeks with a diet containing 0 (control), 0.5% (G1), 1% (G2) and 2% (G3 group) β ...

Effects of Corn Fermented Protein as a Primary Protein Source on Growth Performance, Feed Utilization Efficiency, Hemolymph Biochemical Parameters, and Physiological and Digestive Gene Expression of Pacific White Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)

open access: yesAquaculture Nutrition, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study aimed to determine the effect of replacing fish meal (FM), soybean meal (SBM), and corn protein concentrate (CPC) in an equal ratio with corn fermented protein (CFP) on Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei growth, feed utilization efficiency, hemolymph parameters, and physiological gene expression.

Monitoring of reproductive health in the striped catfish Pangasianodon hypophthalmus (Sauvage, 1878) from the Saen Saep Canal, Thailand

open access: yesVeterinary Integrative Sciences, 2021
Khlong Saen Saep is one of the most important and large canal systems in Bangkok, Thailand. However, the emergence of heavily polluted water has occasionally been reported due to the domestic sewage and industrial effluents discharged into the ...

The Efficacy of Clove Seed Aqueous Extract as an Anesthetic Agent on the Stress Response of Mystus cavasius During Transportation

open access: yesAquaculture Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Mystus cavasius (locally known as Gulsha) is a commercially important catfish in Bangladesh, typically transported live in oxygenated polythene bags without anesthetics, often resulting in severe stress, injuries, and high mortality. This study evaluated the efficacy of clove seed aqueous extract (CAE) as a natural anesthetic at different ...

Comparative Proteomics of Salinity Stress Responses in Fish and Aquatic Invertebrates

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, Volume 25, Issue 21-22, Page 185-205, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Fluctuating salinity is symptomatic of climate change challenging aquatic species. The melting of polar ice, rising sea levels, coastal surface and groundwater salinization, and increased evaporation in arid habitats alter salinity worldwide. Moreover, the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events such as rainstorms and floods increase,

THE EFFECT OF IMMERSION LENGTH IN PAPAYA LEAF SOLUTION (CARICA PAPAYA L.) TOWARD FERTILIZATION AND HATCHING OF IRIDESCENT SHARKS (PANGASIANODON HYPOPHTHALMUS S.) [PDF]

open access: yesRussian Journal of Agricultural and Socio-Economic Sciences, 2018
Iridescent sharks is one kind of freshwater fish that is quite economical. However, the availability of the fish eggs is rather problematic due to the hatcheries, i.e. the adhesive nature of the eggs.

Multi‐Tool Marine Metabarcoding Bioassessment for Baselining and Monitoring Species and Communities in Kelp Habitats

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 25, Issue 7, October 2025.
ABSTRACT The astonishing biological diversity found in Californian kelp forests requires efficient and robust monitoring tools to better understand ecological trends and mitigate against loss or disruption of ecosystem services due to human pressure and climate changes.

Survival and growth rates of Sutchi catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) juveniles under different light wavelengths and intensities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This study report the effects of light intensity on the optimum light wavelength and intensity on the survival rate, specific growth rate, and production index of sutchi catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus, Sauvage, 1878) juveniles. The sutchi catfish

Cardiovascular and ventilatory interactions in the facultative air-breathing teleost Pangasianodon hypophthalmus

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Physiology B, 2019
All vertebrates possess baroreceptors monitoring arterial blood pressure and eliciting reflexive changes in vascular resistance and heart rate in response to blood pressure perturbations imposed by, e.g., exercise, hypoxia, or hemorrhage. There is considerable variation in the magnitude of the baroreflex amongst vertebrate groups, making phylogenetic ...

Parentage Assignment in Striped Catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) Based on Microsatellite Marke [PDF]

open access: yesIsraeli Journal of Aquaculture - Bamidgeh, 2019
In this study, five microsatellite markers from two multiplex PCR sets were used to determine the pedigree of five striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) families that came from a breeding program in Vietnam. The number of alleles per locus and polymorphic information content (PIC) were 4 to 7 and 0.551-0.803, respectively.
