Identifying Subcellular Structure Components in Escherichia Coli by Crosslinking and SEC‐MS

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, Volume 26, Issue 5, Page 27-36, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Cells are comprised of a broad spectrum of structures that compartmentalize biochemical and signaling mechanisms. These structures can be comprised of many biomolecules, but especially lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. Techniques are limited to quantify or discover new subcellular structures.

Task co‐use and product improvement: An organization design perspective

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, Volume 47, Issue 5, Page 1433-1466, May 2026.
Abstract Research Summary Co‐using tasks—using the same task to produce more than one product—promises economies of scope. However, task co‐use also ties products together, changing a firm's task network by introducing cross‐product interdependencies. In light of these interdependencies, we identify an unrecognized downside of task co‐use for product ...

Evaluating Protein Enrichment Methods to Improve Biomarker Discovery in Equine Cerebrospinal Fluid

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
Here, we compared two protein enrichment methods—ProteoMiner Small‐Capacity and PreOmics Enrich‐iST—for proteomic analysis of equine cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). PreOmics Enrich‐iST achieved superior depletion of high‐abundance proteins and identified a greater number of low‐abundance, neuropathology‐relevant proteins than ProteoMiner or native digestion.

Identification of camera trap images by artificial intelligence and human experts produces similar multi‐species occupancy models

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 5, May 2026.
The use of a global AI classifier to identify species and reproducible pre‐ and post‐processing decisions makes our approach broadly applicable and particularly beneficial for national and international monitoring programs that collect large amounts of photo data on threatened, at risk, or management sensitive species and wildlife communities.

Acclimatisation duration, not just release type, drives post‐release settlement in a large‐scale carnivore reintroduction programme

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 5, May 2026.
Our study highlights that when acclimatisation periods are too short, the substantial economic and logistical investment in soft‐release protocols may fail to deliver the expected conservation gains. Therefore, defining evidence‐based acclimatisation periods that are long enough to promote settlement, yet compatible with logistical constraints, may ...
