Road mortality mitigation for red wolves requires a landscape approach
Wildlife Biology, EarlyView.In 1980, the red wolf Canis rufus was declared extinct in the wild. However, starting in 1987, a captive breeding program allowed for a reintroduction effort in and around Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge (Alligator River NWR), North Carolina, USA. In 2012 the wild red wolf population peaked at about 120 individuals.

Wildlife Letters, EarlyView.We used spatially explicit capture‐recapture to estimate jaguar densities in a private reserve in the Colombian Llanos and quantified land cover change in and around the reserve from 2014 to 2024.
