In-vitro inhibiton of Pantoea ananatis by antagonistic bacteria

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
Like most cultivated crops, onions (Allium cepa L.) are plagued by phytopathogenic bacteria. Although bacterial diseases of onion occur sporadically, they can cause loss of yield, in the range of a few percent up to 40%. Center rot of onion caused by Pantoea ananatis is the one of the major bacterial disease. Cultural methods and copper compounds often

First Report of Pantoea ananatis Causing Bacterial Leaf and Panicle Blight of Rice in Louisiana, USA.

Plant Disease
In July 2023, panicle and leaf blight-like symptoms were observed from the rice (Oryza sativa) variety, PVL03, in research field plots in Louisiana (Rayne, LA 70578, USA; 30.21330⁰ N, 92.37309⁰ W).

A new l‐serine binding orphan SerBP affects indole synthesis in Pantoea ananatis

Journal of Basic Microbiology, 2023
Indole is traditionally known as a metabolite of l‐tryptophan and now as an important signaling molecule in bacteria, however, the understanding of its upstream synthesis regulation is very limited.

First Report of Pantoea ananatis Causing Crown Necrobiosis on Strawberry in China

Plant Disease, 2023
Strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) is an economically important crop in Zhejiang, China. In the autumn of 2021, crown necrobiosis and angular leaf spot was observed in commercial strawberry fields (cultivar 'fenyu') in Cixi, Ningbo, Zhejiang, China (N30°9'55″, E121°21'13″). The disease incidence ranged from 5 to 8 % in the field, but could reach 50 to 60

First Report of Pantoea ananatis and Pantoea eucalypti causing onion leaf blight and bulb decay in Central Chile.

Plant Disease, 2023
Nearly 5,400 hectares of long-day onions (Allium cepa) are cultivated in the Central Zone of Chile (UTM 33°3´S to 37°24´S). During summer 2021-22 and 2022-23 (December to February), followed by high temperatures (around 35°C) and high humidity conditions,

Application of inorganic phosphate limitation to efficient isoprene production in Pantoea ananatis

Journal of Applied Microbiology, 2019
Establishment of an efficient isoprene fermentation process by adopting inorganic phosphate limitation as the trigger to direct metabolic flux to the isoprene synthetic pathway. We constructed isoprene-producing strains of Pantoea ananatis (a member of the Enterobacteriaceae family) by integrating a heterologous mevalonate pathway and a metabolic switch

Association of Pantoea ananatis and Pantoea agglomerans with leaf spot disease on ornamental plants of Araceae Family

European Journal of Plant Pathology, 2017
During a survey in 2011–2012, three ornamental plants of Araceae namely Aglaonema nitidum, Syngonium podophyllum and Dieffenbachia amoena showing foliar disease symptoms were collected from central region of Iran. Infected plants exhibited spots on their leaves which appeared as yellow and water-soaked with chlorotic haloes and necrotic center.

Late-season decline, a bacterial disease of corn caused by Pantoea ananatis, identified in sorghum

Plant Health Progress
Foliar symptoms resembling those associated with late-season decline (LSD) disease of corn, caused by the bacteria Pantoea ananatis, were observed in commercial fields of sorghum plants in 2023 in the Texas Panhandle.

First evidence of Pantoea ananatis infections on strawberry in Italy

2022
Recently, symptoms resembling fire blight such as brownish lesions, necrosis, and production of exudates were observed on a new cold-resistant strawberry variety (Ania®). Thus, the aim of this study was to isolate, identify and characterize the causative agents.
