Crystals containing a single subunit type of Panulirus interruptus haemocyanin

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Biology, 1983
Crystals have been grown of the 94K subunit of Panulirus interruptus haemocyanin. The best crystals were obtained by the "two-layer liquid diffusion technique" with ammonium sulphate solutions as precipitating agent. The crystals have space group P6(3)22 with cell dimensions a = b = 195.6 A and c = 158.0 A.

Root effect of Panulirus interruptus hemocyanin

Biochimica Et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure, 1980
Panulirus interruptus hemocyanin exhibits a progressive decrease in oxygen affinity and a parallel loss of cooperativity with decrease in pH, resulting in an apparent loss of the oxygen-binding capacity of the protein. For a characterization of this system, oxygen-binding curves have been determined over the complete range of oxygen saturation ...

Characterization of Proteases in the Digestive System of Spiny Lobster (Panulirus interruptus)

Marine Biotechnology, 2004
Enzymes responsible for digestion of food protein were evaluated and characterized in red lobster (Panulirus interruptus). Several tissues, organs, and body fluids were analyzed. The same composition of proteases was found in gastric juice, midgut gland, and intestinal contents.

Chemosensory neurons in the mouthparts of the spiny lobsters Panulirus argus and Panulirus interruptus (Crustacea: Decapoda)

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology, 2005
We studied electrophysiological properties of single chemosensory neurons in the mouthparts of the spiny lobsters Panulirus argus and Panulirus interruptus to complement our growing understanding of the behavioral roles of mouthparts of decapod crustaceans.
