Crystal structure of hexameric haemocyanin from Panulirus interruptus refined at 3.2 Å resolution
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1989The use of non-crystallographic symmetry restraints in the refinement of the haemocyanin hexamer from Panulirus interruptus at 3.2 A resolution has resulted in a final model with a very reasonable geometry and a crystallographic R-factor of 20.1%, using 59,193 observed structure factor amplitudes between 8.0 and 3.2 A.

Abstract 1. 1. The effects of mercuric chloride on Panulirus interruptus hemocyanin has been studied. 2. 2. Binding experiments indicate that a fairly large number of mercuric ions may be bound to Panulirus hemocyanin. 3. 3. At low concentrations of mercury (when no loss of copper occurs) cooperative interactions in oxygen binding are

Some aspects of the circulatory physiology of the spiny lobster Panulirus interruptus
Marine Biology, 1975The blood circulatory system and the circulatory dynamics of the spiny lobster Panulirus interruptus (Randall) have been examined in detail. A mean absolute blood pressure of 36.5 cm-H2O and a mean pulse pressure of 27 cm-H2O, show this species to have the highest pressure-driven circulation yet measured in decapod crustaceans.

Abstract Complex structures have been found in gill epithelium of the spiny lobster, Panulirus interruptus . These fibrillar structures are located at the base of gill filaments and at the ends of longitudinal septa which divide the gill filaments into channels for directional blood flow.

Amino Acid Sequence Studies on the c Chain of Panulirus Interruptus Hemocyanin
1986A method is described to isolate the c chain in amounts sufficient for sequencing. The present state of the elucidation of the amino acid sequence is described. A comparison with the a chain is made.

The appearance and distribution of dense-core vesicles in the stomatogastric ganglion of the spiny lobster, Panulirus interruptus, were examined using transmission electron microscopy. Following five fixation techniques, three types of dense-core vesicles were identified on the basis of size and morphology.

Pyloric neuron morphology in the stomatogastric ganglion of the lobster, Panulirus interruptus.
Brain, behavior and evolution, 2009The pyloric network of decapod crustaceans has been intensively studied electrophysiologically in the infraorders Astacidea, Brachyura, and Palinura. The morphology of some or all pyloric neurons has been well described in Astacidea and Brachyura, but less so in Palinura.

The effect of eyestalk hormones on the gastric mill in the intact lobster,Panulirus interruptus
Journal of Comparative Physiology ? A, 1981An optical method was developed to analyse gastric mill activity in intact and freely behaving lobsters over several days. 1. In undisturbed animals the gastric mill reaches its highest level of activity, about 300 cycles per hour, in the first hour after the uptake of food.
