Peroxidases of Papaver somniferum
Phytochemistry, 1982Abstract Extracts of Papaver somniferum that had peroxidase activity were ineffective in catalysing oxidation of reticuline. Two peroxidases were purified from young seedlings and their properties examined. Only one of them was active toward indole-3-acetic acid (IAA).

Opium Poppy (Papaver somniferum)
2006The genetic transformation of opium poppy, Papaver somniferum, offers the opportunity to study the mechanisms involved in the regulation of benzylisoquinoline and morphinan alkaloid biosynthesis. The development of an efficient transformation protocol for opium poppy has allowed us to transform a range of genotypes from all around the world, including ...

Alkaloids from Papaver cylindricum
Planta Medica, 1982The major alkaloids obtained from Papaver cylindricum Cullen were oripavine, narcotine, thebaine and rhoeadine. Floripavidine, papaverine, salutaridine, armepavine, N-methylasimilobine, scoulerine and cheilanthifoline were obtained as minor alkaloids. There have been no previous reports of alkaloids from P. cylindricum.

Alkaloids of Papaver bracteatum
Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 1977From the epigeal part ofPapaver bracteatum Lindl. (family Papaveraceae) growing in the region of Mt. Beshtau (Pyatigorsk) 12 bases have been isolated: isothebaine and oripavine, isolated previously, and thebaine, mecambridine, orientalidine, alpinine, alpigenine, salutaridine, floripavidine, bracteoline, and bases (I) and (II), isolated for the first ...

Papaver fugax growing on the shore of Lake Kazenoi Am in the Checheno-Ingushskii ASSR at the boundary with the Dagestan ASSR has yielded 0.39% of alkaloids. Seven alkaloids have been isolated, of which cheilanthifoline, scoulerine, and reticuline have been detected in this species for the first time, while it is the first time that d-remeroline has ...

Alkaloids of Papaver orientale L.
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1977According to the alkaloid profiles, five different chemotypes (A, B, C, D, and E) were classified in Papaver orientale L. with haploid chromosome number n = 14. Chemotype A had only oripavine; chemotype B contained oripavine and thebaine; chemotype C had isothebaine in addition to oripavine; chemotype D contained oripavine and alpinigenine; and ...
