Papaver rhoeas L. Artbeschreibung: 30-70 cm hoch. Stängel einfach oder verzweigt, beblättert und behaart. Blätter 1-2fach fiederteilig, mit spitzen Zipfeln. Haare der Blütenstiele meist waagrecht abstehend. Kronblätter rot, 2-4 cm lang, am Grund oft mit dunklem Fleck.
