PAPR Reduction for 5G Waveforms

2018 6th International Conference on Wireless Networks and Mobile Communications (WINCOM), 2018
In order to meet 5G mobile communication requirements in terms of data rate, high spectral efficiency and low latency and complexity, multicarrier modulation is being investigated as a part of 5G physical layer solutions. Filter Bank Multicarrier, Universal Filtered Multicarrier and Resource Block Filtered Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing are

PAPR reduction through lossy coding

2017 International Conference on Algorithms, Methodology, Models and Applications in Emerging Technologies (ICAMMAET), 2017
Orthogonal Frequency division multiplexing is the modulation technique used for the fourth generation wireless communication system. In OFDM, Signals can be modulated by multiple carriers. OFDM uses the bandwidth of the spectrum efficiently. But the limitation of the OFDM system is the high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) which results in the ...

PAPR Reduction by Symbol Nulling

VTC Spring 2009 - IEEE 69th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2009
As a multicarrier signal can exhibit large peaks in the time domain, the amplifier used to transmit the multicarrier signal must be highly linear, and thus expensive, to avoid non-linear signal distortion. To reduce the high peak-to-average power ratio, and hence to allow cheaper amplifiers, several techniques are described in the literature.

PAPR reduction in OFDM systems

2014 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON), 2014
In a communication system, operation of the transmitter power amplifier is limited to linear range. Input signal with an amplitude more than the transmitter power amplifier linear range results in signal distortion. Hence, the input signal to the transmitter should be with low peak to average power ratio.

PAPR Reduction Scheme using Maximum Cross Correlation

IEEE Communications Letters, 2012
This letter presents an efficient technique to reduce the impact of nonlinear power amplifiers on the bit error rate (BER) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The proposed technique is based on the well-established Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS), a power amplifier model, and a simple single point cross correlator.

PAPR Reduction in OFDM

International Journal of Emerging Research in Management and Technology, 2018
The term OFDM is a special type of FDM which has very vast application in the field of wired and wireless communication systems. In this paper we are discussing about the main problem of OFDM i.e. Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) which affects the performance and efficiency of Power Amplifier.

PAPR reduction in OFMD WiMAX application

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) is one form of a multicarrier modulation technique. It is implemented in high date communication systems. The data in OFDM is divided into groups of sub- streams. Each supstream is mapped into orthogonal subcarrier.

Floating OFDM-SNM for PAPR and OOBE Reduction

2021 IEEE 93rd Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2021-Spring), 2021
The novel orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with subcarrier number modulation (OFDM-SNM) transmission scheme offers high spectral and energy efficiency compared to the conventional OFDM; this is due to the extra information bits loaded over the active subcarriers.

Receiver based PAPR reduction in OFDMA

2014 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2014
High peak-to-average power ratio is one of the major drawbacks of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). Clipping is the simplest peak reduction scheme, however, it requires clipping mitigation at the receiver. Recently compressed sensing has been used for clipping mitigation (by exploiting the sparse nature of clipping signal).
