Optimal L2 estimates for semidiscrete Galerkin methods for\ud parabolic integro-differential equations with nonsmooth data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this article, we discuss an alternate approach to a priori error estimates for the semidiscrete Galerkin approximation to a time dependent parabolic integro-differential equation with nonsmooth initial data.

Rare‐Earth Yttrium Doping Advances High‐Performance AgSbTe2 Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Y‐doped AgSbTe2 achieves band and microstructure co‐optimization, with coherent Y‐Ag2Te interfaces enhancing phonon scattering and reducing lattice thermal conductivity to 0.26 W m−1 K−1. Combined with valence‐band broadening and increased carrier concentration, this yields ZT ≈ 2 at 623 K, average ZT = 1.5, and 7.3 % conversion efficiency of a single ...

Alcohol‐Adduct Mediated Precursor Stabilization Strategies for Conformal SnO2 Layers in Highly Efficient and Stable Perovskite Solar Modules

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
An alcohol‐adduct‐mediated strategy is employed to stabilize tin isopropoxide for the formation of a homogeneous double electron transport layer (ETL) incorporating SnO2 nanoparticles (NPs). This double‐ETL exhibits improved optical and charge‐transport properties due to reduced defect density and better energy level alignment, resulting in high ...

A parabolic-hyperbolic free boundary problem modeling tumor growth with drug application

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2010
In this article, we study a free boundary problem modeling the growth of tumors with drug application. The model consists of two nonlinear second-order parabolic equations describing the diffusion of nutrient and drug concentration, and three ...

Backward difference replacements of the space derivative in first order hyperbolic equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Two families of two-time level difference schemes are developed for the numerical solution of first order hyperbolic partial differential equations with one space variable.

Oscillation properties for parabolic equations of neutral type [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
summary:The oscillation of the solutions of linear parabolic differential equations with deviating arguments are studied and sufficient conditions that all solutions of boundary value problems are oscillatory in a cylindrical domain are ...

Solid particles focusing, orienting, and de‐focusing in planar Poiseuille flow

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Three‐dimensional, time‐dependent lattice‐Boltzmann simulations of neutrally buoyant particles in planar Poiseuille flow have been performed. The particles are spherical or cylindrical (the latter with a length over diameter ratios in the range 1/3 to 2) and have volume fraction ranging from virtually zero (one particle) to 0.15. The channel's
