Broadband Directional Thermal Radiation with Asymmetric Femtosecond Laser‐Processed Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Femtosecond laser processing is used to scalably create self‐organized angled microstructures which exhibit highly directional emissivity that occurs for all polarizations. Laser parameters are tuned to alter the surface features, control the direction of emission, and enhance the directional emissivity. Electromagnetic modeling is performed to analyze

Parabolic inequalities in L1 as limits of renormalized equations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2006
The paper deals with the existence of solutions of some parabolic bilateral problems approximated by the renormalized solutions of some parabolic equations.

Optically Selective Photomask Based on Field‐Induced Periodic Defect Arrays in Ferroelectric Nematics

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐induced periodic defect patterns in the ferroelectric nematic liquid crystal phase act as optically selective photomasks. Created in the liquid crystal cells with bare electrodes, their periodicity is controlled by the applied frequency and cell gap. When used as photomasks, these patterns modulate transmitted light, whose spatial characteristics

On some parabolic problems with measure sources

open access: yesMoroccan Journal of Pure and Applied Analysis, 2019
One of the recent advances in the investigation of nonlinear parabolic equations with a measure as forcing term is a paper by F. Petitta in which it has been introduced the notion of renormalized solutions to the initial parabolic problem in divergence ...

The Continuous Classical Boundary Optimal Control of a Couple Linear Of Parabolic Partial Differential Equations

open access: yesAl-Mustansiriyah Journal of Science, 2018
In this paper the continuous classical boundary optimal problem of a couple linear partial differential equations of parabolic type is studied, The Galerkin method is used to prove the existence and uniqueness theorem of the state vector solution of a ...

Fast wavelet based algorithms for linear evolution equations [PDF]

open access: yes
A class was devised of fast wavelet based algorithms for linear evolution equations whose coefficients are time independent. The method draws on the work of Beylkin, Coifman, and Rokhlin which they applied to general Calderon-Zygmund type integral ...

Grip and Grasp: Lizard Claw Inspired Robotic Manipulators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Our study identifies the most effective lizard claw shape for use as an end effector in a bioinspired robotic manipulator. By examining key geometric features and combining them into comparative indices, the Crotaphytus collaris claw is found to be the best fit.

On the existence of classical solutions for differential-functional IBVP

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 1998
We consider the initial-boundary value problem for second order differential-functional equations of parabolic type. Functional dependence in the equation is of the Hale type. By using Leray-Schauder theorem we prove the existence of classical solutions.
