Some differential complexes within and beyond parabolic geometry

open access: yes, 2018
For smooth manifolds equipped with various geometric structures, we construct complexes that replace the de Rham complex in providing an alternative fine resolution of the sheaf of locally constant functions.

Universal moduli of parabolic sheaves on stable marked curves

open access: yes, 2011
The topic of this thesis is the moduli theory of (parabolic) sheaves on stable curves. Using geometric invariant theory (GIT), universal moduli spaces of semistable parabolic sheaves on stable marked curves are constructed: `universal' indicates that ...

Light‑Driven Propulsion of Graphene Aerogels in Microgravity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ultralight graphene aerogels convert laser light into thrust. Parabolic‐flight experiments directly compare their motion in microgravity and at 1 g, revealing order‐of‐magnitude enhancements in distance, velocity, and transient thrust when weight and friction are removed (∼50 times enhancement).

tt*-geometry and parabolic Higgs bundles

open access: yes, 2019
In their study of certain two-dimensional physical theories, Cecotti and Vafa discovered the tt*-equations. These are equations in terms of bundle data over the moduli spaces of these theories and their solutions are referred to as tt*-geometry.

Bioinspired Morphology‐Decoupled Soft Gripper with Enhanced Bidirectional Grasping Capability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by biological predation, a novel gripper decouples cross‐modal grasping via dual morphological configurations. Synergistically integrating hybrid rigid and soft coupled fingers with a metamaterial palm, the system performs active compliant grasping for static objects and passive cage capture for dynamic targets.

Defect Driven Electronic Structure Reconfiguration and Hierarchical Phonon Suppression in Ag2Se Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Indium substitution in Ag2Se nanocrystals simultaneously tailors electronic structure and lattice dynamics. Fermi‐level upshift and band‐gap narrowing enhance electrical transport, while defect‐induced lattice softening intensifies phonon scattering and suppresses lattice thermal conductivity.

Superlattice Architectures for Advancing Photothermal Catalysis: Mechanisms and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This paper provides a timely overview of superlattice architectures in photothermal catalysis, with a systematic review on mechanisms at both atomic and macroscopic scales in different processes, challenges, and future opportunities. ABSTRACT Photothermal catalysis has emerged as a powerful strategy to complement photocatalysis by harnessing full ...

Two constructions with parabolic geometries

open access: yes, 2005
This is an expanded version of a series of lectures delivered at the 25th Winter School ``Geometry and Physics'' in Srni. After a short introduction to Cartan geometries and parabolic geometries, we give a detailed description of the equivalence between parabolic geometries and underlying geometric structures. The second part of the paper is devoted to

An Embodied Paper‐Based Microfluidic Al‐Air Battery for Enduring Untethered Insect‐Scale Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a centimeter‐scale microfluidic aluminum–air battery (MFAAB) with dual‐surface anode and F−‐mediated byproduct decomposition. The design enables a high capacity of 2697.05 mAh/g Al and delivers tens of milliwatts to power LEDs, motors, and a toy car.
