Performance analysis of solar parabolic trough receiver with twisted perforated conical inserts
Proceedings of the Institution of mechanical engineers. Part E, journal of process mechanical engineeringA solar parabolic trough is one of the types of solar thermal collector used to harness sunlight and convert it into usable heat energy. Solar parabolic trough collector demonstrates reduced efficiency compared to point-focusing types of concentrating ...

Vacuum Cavity Parabolic Trough Collector
Volume 6B: Energy, 2014Without frequent cleaning, dust accumulation on parabolic trough collectors can lead to significant degradation of the performance of trough collectors over time. Owing to the nature of the trough profile and the presence of the receiving tube in the middle of the trough, automatic cleaning has not been a feasible option.

Parabolic Trough Receiver Thermal Testing
ASME 2007 Energy Sustainability Conference, 2007NREL has fabricated a parabolic trough receiver thermal loss test stand to quantify parabolic receiver off-sun steadystate heat loss. At an operating temperature of 400°C, measurements on Solel UVAC2 and Schott PTR70 receivers suggest off-sun thermal losses of approximately 370 W/m receiver length.

Parabolic Trough Solar Thermal Cooker (PSTC)
2020 1st International Conference on Innovative Research in Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (IRASET), 2020In this article, we have described the structure, operation and we present the heat transfer models in the different blocks of a solar thermal cooker powered by a parabolic trough concentrator equipped by a vacuum tube during a sunny day. After one hour of operation the temperature of the upper part of the pot reaches the value 168° C.

EVALUATION OF A PARABOLIC TROUGH COLLECTOR PERFORMANCE
2012In this paper the collector erected at the Archimedes Solar Energy Laboratory is initially presented followed by the performance evaluation of the collector. The collector is made by Nep Solar from Australia. It has an aperture area of 14.4 m2, a concentration ratio of 13.7 and can be operated up to 200°C.

Basic Control of Parabolic Troughs
2012The chapter outlines the main features of the different modeling and basic control approaches used during the last 25 years to control the distributed collector systems (DCS). The DCS may be described by a distributed parameter model of the temperature.
