The integration of absorption refrigeration system, parabolic trough collectors, and ice storage system to augment power generation capability of gas turbine power plant

open access: yesInternational Journal of Thermofluids
Gas turbine power plant yields reduced power output in hot climates. Cooling of inlet air that is supplied to compressor of gas turbine unit results in increasing power output.

Validation of SAM Modeling of Concentrated Solar Power Plants

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The paper proposes the validation of the latest System Advisor Model (SAM) vs. the experimental data for concentrated solar power energy facilities. Both parabolic trough, and solar tower, are considered, with and without thermal energy storage.

Design of a parabolic trough concentrated solar power plant in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
The paper discusses the design options for a concentrated solar power plant in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The specific conditions, in terms of weather and sun irradiance, are considered, including sand and dust, humidity, temperature and proximity to the ...

Toward a theory of Bayesian experimentation in early‐stage ventures

open access: yesStrategic Entrepreneurship Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary The entrepreneurship literature has established the benefits of experimentation but has paid comparatively little attention to its costs. We develop a Bayesian model to illustrate the entrepreneurial choice between direct and experimental entry.

Recent experimental enhancement techniques applied in the receiver part of the parabolic trough collector – A review

open access: yes, 2020
Recently, the thermal performance of the parabolic trough collector (PTC), augmented to be more applicable and efficient, received intensive research. These studies aimed to improve heat transfer in the receiver part, in order to decrease the heat loss ...

Indoor thermal loss test on small-size solar receiver (UF-RT01) for process heat application

open access: yesSolar Energy Advances, 2021
The parabolic trough collector is one of the most promising technologies for medium temperature application. The energy of solar radiation is directed by parabolic mirrors into cylindrical receivers and transmitted to a heat transfer fluid.

Advances in Floating Solar Desalination Systems

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, EarlyView.
This review critically classifies floating solar desalination systems into five main categories and compares their thermal performance, productivity and technological limitations. Membrane‐based and multieffect systems showed the highest efficiencies, while traditional designs remain limited by heat losses and scaling.

Nonimaging High Concentrating Photovoltaic System Using Trough

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Solar energy is a long-established technology, which has zero CO2 emissions, and provides low-cost energy for a given area of land. The concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) has been given preference over the photovoltaic due to its high efficiency.

‘AN AUSTRIAN FATE’: TRAUMA, REPRESSION AND WAR IN ADRIAN GOIGINGER'S DER FUCHS (2022)

open access: yesGerman Life and Letters, Volume 79, Issue 3, Page 351-364, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This article examines one of the highest‐grossing films in recent years in Austria, Der Fuchs (Adrian Goiginger, 2022), which focuses on the friendship of the protagonist, a Wehrmacht soldier, with an abandoned fox cub, but in the process elides more than four years of the soldier's wartime experience.

Finding a mix of renewable energy for different stakeholders by applying multi‐criteria decision‐making techniques

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 33, Issue 4, Page 2499-2534, July 2026.
Abstract This paper presents a two‐stage model for planning a renewable energy portfolio by balancing economic, social and environmental sustainability goals. The first stage addresses a multi‐objective problem where conflictive impacts generated by the energy portfolios should be optimised according to the corresponding economic, social or ...
