Variation in Mycosis of Entomopathogenic Fungi on Mealybug, Paracoccus marginatus (Homoptera: Pseudococcidae)

Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences India Section B - Biological Sciences, 2015
External symptoms of mycosis, chronological developments and duration of mycosis by entomopathogenenic fungi, Beauveria bassiana, Verticillium lecanii and Metarhizium anisopliae on mealybug, Paracoccus marginatus was studied at in vitro condition. Variations were observed in timing and duration of the different phases of mycosis.

Biology of Paracoccus Marginatus On Parthenium Hysterophorus

Indian Journal of Entomology, 2018
The biology of Paracoccus marginatus William and Granara De Willink (Pseudococcidae: Hemiptera) when reared on Parthenium histerophorus L. revealed that its incubation period varied from 2 to 5 days and females had three nymphal instars. The first instar nymphal stage lasted for 6.44 days, and for second and third instars it was 6.30 and 5.72 days ...

Paracoccus marginatus (papaya mealybug).

2021
Abstract Paracoccus marginatus is a mealybug native to Central America. It has been spread accidentally outside its native range by trade in live plant material, such as papaya fruits. It became an invasive pest in the Caribbean Islands and USA (Florida) in 1994-2002; the West and Central Pacific islands in 2002-2006; South-East Asia

Effect of temperature on the life history of the mealybug Paracoccus marginatus (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae).

Journal of economic entomology, 2009
Effect of temperature on the life history of the mealybug Paracoccus marginatus Williams & Granara de Willink (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) was investigated in the laboratory. P. marginatus was able to develop and complete its life cycle at 18, 20, 25, and 30 +/- 1 degrees C.

Biochemical Basis of Resistance in Brinjal to Papaya Mealybug, Paracoccus marginatus (Williams and Granara de Willink)

Madras Agricultural Journal, 2012
Changes in biochemical parameters like total carbohydrates, total sugars, total chlorophyll, moisture, ash, total phenolic content, peroxidase (PO), polyphenol oxidase (PPO), phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL), catalase (CAT) were compared with susceptible (CO 2 variety) and less susceptible (Solanum viarum) to papaya mealybug.

Assessment of host-plant preference of the mealybugs Phenacoccus solenopsis and Paracoccus marginatus under laboratory conditions

Journal of Entomological Research
AbstractPhenacoccus solenopsis and Paracoccus marginatus are two economically important mealybug species that inflict significant damage to a wide range of agricultural and horticultural crops due to their polyphagous nature. P. solenopsis demonstrated a notable preference for malvaceous hosts, with Gudhal and okra recording the highest mealybug counts
