The Effort Paradox: Effort Is Both Costly and Valued
According to prominent models in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and economics, effort (be it physical or mental) is costly: when given a choice, humans and non-human animals alike tend to avoid effort. Here, we suggest that the opposite is also true

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

A double‐sided mechanical interlocking strategy is developed to create robust electrical contact between polymer electrode and metal interconnect. The fibrous structure enables formation of thread–hole adhesion, which only breaks under bulk failure and achieves a record high interfacial energy exceeding 730 J·m−2. This adhesion secures the integrity of

L'histoire contemporaine de la langue catalane : une évolution paradoxale
In order to understand the current situation of Catalan it is necessary to start from the idea that it has resulted from a process of linguistic minorization beginning at the early Modern Age which has been partially reversed from the late 19th and ...

In a lumbar spine instability model, dorsal root ganglion cells mediate the perception of relevant mechanical stresses through Piezo2 and subsequently release CGRP. CGRP activates the NF‐κB signaling pathway in cartilage endplate cells through the receptor RAMP1.
