A Generic Model for Prediction of Separation Performance of Olefin/Paraffin Mixture by Glassy Polymer Membranes [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و تکنولوژی پلیمر, 2008
The separation of olefin/paraffin mixtures is an important process in petrochemical industries, which is traditionally performed by low temperature distillation with a high-energy consumption, or complex extractive distillationand adsorption techniques ...

Prediction of the Viscosity-Temperature Dependence of a Mixture of Oils Based on Information about the Density, Content of Paraffin, Resins, Asphaltenes and Fractional Composition

open access: yesGeoresursy
The article is devoted to the problem of predicting the viscosity of an oil mixture. Viscosity is an important characteristic of oil when calculating pressure losses due to friction when moving in a well, through field pipelines, through a network of ...

Comparison of SVM, RF and ELM on an Electronic Nose for the Intelligent Evaluation of Paraffin Samples

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Paraffin odor intensity is an important quality indicator when a paraffin inspection is performed. Currently, paraffin odor level assessment is mainly dependent on an artificial sensory evaluation.

Regulating Hydration Heat in Magnesium Phosphate Cement Using Paraffins: Efficacy and Performance Trade-Offs

open access: yesBuildings
Magnesium phosphate cement (MPC) holds great potential for rapid repairs, yet its practical application is limited by its intense hydration exotherm. While many existing studies confirm paraffin (PA)’s ability to regulate hydration heat in other cement ...

Slow light in paraffin-coated Rb vapor cells

open access: yes, 2006
We present preliminary results from an experimental study of slow light in anti-relaxation-coated Rb vapor cells, and describe the construction and testing of such cells. The slow ground state decoherence rate allowed by coated cell walls leads to a dual-

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Designing of the cooling vest from paraffin compounds and evaluation of its impact under laboratory hot conditions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Preventive Medicine, 2016
Background: The phase change materials (PCMs) have the appropriate properties for controlling heat strain. One of the well-known PCMs is paraffin. This study aimed to design the cooling vest from the cheap commercial paraffin compound and evaluation of ...
