We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Speculative Parallelization of Partially Parallel Loops [PDF]
Current parallelizing compilers cannot identify a significant fraction of parallelizable loops because they have complex or statically insufficiently defined access patterns. We have previously proposed a framework for their identification. We speculatively executed a loop as a doall, and applied a fully parallel data dependence test to determine if it

Characterizing the Occurrence of Dockerfile Smells in Open-Source Software: An Empirical Study
Dockerfile plays an important role in the Docker-based software development process, but many Dockerfile codes are infected with smells in practice. Understanding the occurrence of Dockerfile smells in open-source software can benefit the practice of ...

Parallel linear hashtable motion estimation algorithm for parallel video processing
This paper presents a parallel linear hashtable motion estimation algorithm (LHMEA). Most parallel video compression algorithms focus on group of picture (GOP). Based on LHMEA we proposed earlier, we developed a parallel motion estimation algorithm focus

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Theoretical Analysis and Experiment of the Five DOF Hybrid Robot P(RPR/RP)RR
To meet the demands of machining new energy vehicles aluminum alloy structures, this paper introduced a five degree-of-freedom (DOF) hybrid robot, P(RPR/RP)RR, and conducted a systematic investigation into its kinematics, stiffness, and preliminary ...

Distance: a New Metric for Controlling Granularity for Parallel Execution [PDF]
Granularity control is a method to improve parallel execution performance by limiting excessive parallelism. The general idea is that if the gain obtained by executing a task in parallel is less than the overheads required to support parallel execution ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
