Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Parallel window decoding enables scalable fault tolerant quantum computation
Large-scale quantum computers have the potential to hold computational capabilities beyond conventional computers. However, the physical qubits are prone to noise which must be corrected in order to perform fault-tolerant quantum computations.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Research on Parallel Computation Method for Protein Phylogenetic Analysis [PDF]
In current phylogeny studies, most phylogenetic analysis tools cannot analyze protein sequences on the GPU architecture. Therefore,a large scale phylogenetic analysis method tgpMC3 is proposed. The Conditional Likelihood Probabilities(CLPs) matrix is ...

Some Notes on Parallel Quantum Computation [PDF]
We exhibit some simple gadgets useful in designing shallow parallel circuits for quantum algorithms. We prove that any quantum circuit composed entirely of controlled-not gates or of diagonal gates can be parallelized to logarithmic depth, while circuits

Generic design of Chinese remaindering schemes [PDF]
We propose a generic design for Chinese remainder algorithms. A Chinese remainder computation consists in reconstructing an integer value from its residues modulo non coprime integers.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

A Randomized Sublinear Time Parallel GCD Algorithm for the EREW PRAM [PDF]
We present a randomized parallel algorithm that computes the greatest common divisor of two integers of n bits in length with probability 1-o(1) that takes O(n loglog n / log n) expected time using n^{6+\epsilon} processors on the EREW PRAM parallel ...
