Remote Magnetomechanical Neuromodulation Uncovers Therapeutic Mechanisms for Alleviating Parkinsonian Symptoms in Freely Moving Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Magnetomechanical neuromodulation using magnetic nanodiscs enables remote activation of neurons. In a hemiparkinsonian mouse model, alternating magnetic fields actuate the nanodiscs to generate torque that opens mechanosensitive ion channels within the subthalamic nucleus, thereby modulating basal ganglia motor circuitry.

In-House Green Fertiliser Production for AgriVoltaics From BIPV Green Hydrogen Laboratory

open access: yesAgriVoltaics Conference Proceedings
Brazil currently imports approximately 85% of its fertilisers, making its agricultural sector vulnerable to international supply disruptions and price volatility. In parallel, significant portions of the country face challenges related to energy poverty

Synchronization‐Dissipation in the Cardiorespiratory System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By modeling central nervous coupling and viscoelastic interactions in the cardiorespiratory system we show that synchronization produces a 10% gain in cardiac efficiency in humans. It is surmised that respiratory sinus arrhythmia improves cardiac pumping efficiency by reducing dynamic stress and power dissipation in the pulmonary vasculature.

Palatable‐Food–Driven Top‐Down Circuit Inhibits PVNCRF Activity to Mitigate Stress Via Peri‐PVNCRFR1 Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Palatable food alleviates stress and prevents anxiety. This study uncovers a dedicated neural pathway: dopamine release in the PFC activates D1R neurons, whose projections to the peri‐PVN engage a population of anxiolytic CRFR1 neurons. These neurons then inhibit stress‐induced hyperactivity of PVNCRF neurons, providing a circuit‐level explanation for ...

Parallel imports and the development of EC Competition Law

open access: yes, 2000
Parallel imports often lead to lowered prices and is therefore regarded as good from a consumer's point of view. From a business'point of view this is not always the case. When do parallel imports occur?

CONSIDERING THE PROSPECTS OF PARALLEL IMPORT

open access: yesVestnik Universiteta, 2019
The issue of parallel import is сomplex. The problem has geopolitical nature. The price of the existing ban is billions of dollars in overpayment for imported goods per year, because of it, the structure of domestic trade in Russia is extremely monopolized: no one can supply goods other than official importers.
