IEEE/ASME transactions on mechatronics, 2018
This paper proposes a damping and transfer control system with an active vibration reducer for omnidirectional wheeled robots. The active vibration reducer, which is installed on omnidirectional wheeled robots that use three omni wheels, employs a ...

Optimization of a Spherical Five-Bar Parallel Drive Linkage
Journal of Mechanical Design, 1991The spherical five bar parallel drive linkage is investigated for use as a spherical manipulator or as a pointing mechanism. The direct and inverse kinematics are derived for a general 5-R linkage. Kinematic and dynamic optimization yields a geometry in which all link lengths are equal to a right angle.

LINKAGE DISEQUILIBRIUM STUDY WITH A PARALLEL ADAPTIVE GA
International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2005In this article, we model a linkage disequilibrium study (genomic study) as an optimization problem where a given objective function has to be optimized. The objective of the study is to discover haplotypes (associations of genetic markers) candidate to explain multi-factorial diseases such as diabetes or obesity.

Empirical Investigations on Parallelized Linkage Identification
2004To solve GA-difficult problems in which we cannot ensure tight linkage in their encoding, advanced methods such as linkage identification techniques and estimation of distribution algorithms work effectively although they need some additional computational cost.

Three Types of Parallel 6R Linkages
2013In this paper, we consider a special kind of overconstrained 6R closed linkages which we call parallel 6R linkages. These are linkages with the property that they have three pairs of parallel joint-axes. We prove that there are three types of parallel 6R linkage.

In the biomedical domain, the record linkage is considered as a crucial problem. When the number of records is very large, existing algorithms for record linkage take too much time. Often, we have to link a small set of new records with a large set of old records.

Parallelizing Record Linkage for Disclosure Risk Assessment
2008Handling very large volumes of confidential data is becoming a common practice in many organizations such as statistical agencies. This calls for the use of protection methods that have to be validated in terms of the quality they provide. With the use of Record Linkage (RL) it is possible to compute the disclosure risk, which gives a measure of the ...

Phonetics-Based Parallel Privacy Preserving Record Linkage
2017We live in an era characterized by the abundance of data, often conveying personal information. Linking this kind of data is useful for a variety of applications, raising, however privacy concerns. To address this issue, privacy preserving record linkage has emerged, with techniques aiming at revealing to the matching parties only the actually matching
